I just have to ask...

Perhaps a Reddit-style comment vote karma system could help? Everyone starts with 0 and can't post more than once per hour, and members thumbs up votes (vs thumbs down) reduces and finally removes the cooldown period. Or, if the community deems you an idiot, it increases to once per day (or more).

As an ex web developer I know this represents significant work and a bunch more database requests... but at least it is non-political in the sense that all comments are fair game and no one has to say anything derogatory about controversial comments - we can all just vote down the stupid.

Not saying it's easy, but at least it's largely self-moderating.

Quick question: What would be a non idiotic comments? What comments would be consider ok?

Seriously, a person could write a thesis on the weird and perverse interactions that seem to be plentiful on this site.

This is a weird and perverse site.

Guess it's a slow day in female muscle land.

People need to start taking responsibility for their own reactions to things. Just because you have a bad reaction to something, like someone's comments, doesn't mean somebody has done something "wrong" and/or needs to change their behavior. You can keep smashing your head against the wall trying to get someone else to change to please you or YOU can adapt. Which do you think is going to be more effective?

Yes, there are some dumb comments here. Yes, there are some perversions here. Welcome to Earth. Welcome to humanity. Deal with it. If you're so embarrassed or frustrated by it, look inward and figure out why that matters so much to you. You can only change yourself.

You can actually do that in your account settings:

Thanks! I had heard of this function (because someone offered -- I mean, threatened -- to block me). With something like this in place, nobody can really complain about a specific user.

Wow, nice, great. Those are some of the descriptive words I may use to comment. I comment hoping the model will see the comment and maybe get a wee bit of motivation from it. I also have the same question as spoonnie and agree with trevorphillips9 comment. Standing by to get flamed.

I think HalfKorean summed it up pretty nicely. Yes, without a doubt there are inane comments on here. You have grown men posting "BOING" ad nauseam. I completely understand that it's annoying, but at the end of the day, why make it your hill to die on? Is it really THAT important? Just ignore them or block them (as I've done to several people whose comments I have no interest in reading), move on, and enjoy the site.

> i view this site fundamentally as a porn site. am i in the minority? i don't know what makes a "good" comment and what doesn't, but i wouldn't expect too much from a porn site.

Interesting take. Would you refer me to another porn site, ANY other porn site, wherein all the women are clothed and unexposed and none are engaging in any form of sex or sexual perversion?

Just one with do. Thanks!

You can call it whatever you want, but most people come here to get turned on by these women. Why else would they be here? Why else are you here? There's no valuable information here. There are no articles. There are no diet and exercise tips. Just pics and videos of hot women.

Can we just be adults and not pretend that this site exists for any other reason than muscle fetish? Shaming anyone here for that is nothing but projection of your own shame and guilt.

I know most will understand why, but if people are commenting dumb stuff like that, and then suddenly a whole woman disappears from the site, they better not start a thread called “wow where did SHE go and WHY??l

This is a promising idea. I wouldn't really have downvotes, but having a comment limitation by default that gets lifted if you get enough upvotes on your comments seems like it could work. It wouldn't be terribly hard to implement, either.

That said, then the problem would be people registering alt accounts to upvote their main account comments.

reddit allows a modifier where you can disable downvotes altogether, and comments get pushed down by virtue of others being pushed up, instead of being downvoted into oblivion. which i think would work better here. effectively make comments start out at 0 and +1 and higher gets it visibility.

That would interrupt the order of comments replying to each other though, making some sections way more confusing.

Hence the quote function.

@Dashriprock The quote function as it exists currently wouldn't really solve the problem, and also isn't used by a lot of people in the image comments.

The posts also have a time-stamp if anyone cares about the chronology for older posts. Frankly, I wouldn't place the highest-rated comment at the top. Just leave it wherever. Oftentimes a comment is funny because it's a response to someone else.

Well, I'm convinced. This site needs to stop forcing people to scroll past the picture and read the inane comments.

It's like going to someones house, knocking on their door, and telling them you don't want to talk to them.

It's probably more about how women come here, are horrified by seeing hundreds of their photos posted without their consent with obscene comments underneath their photos talking about "what we would do to her" and then they demand to have their photos taken down. Remove the dumbass comments and it's a lot less horrifying.

Thank you. this is all i'm saying. personally, i dont know how many are on the blacklist because of this specifically (vs not wanting to have their stuff "stolen") but it wouldn't hurt. we're supposed to be appreciating and supporting thm

That's fair but just unrealistic. If you have a comment section it's going to be taken over by the lowest common denominator (eg. Youtube) and if you moderate it too heavily you're just going to get people whining about free speech.

The only viable solution is disabling comments.

It is I, that most important person again.

I have further thoughts, that I misinterpret as fact, on this website devolving into a hellhole of pornography! It is such because of the huge amount of contemptible comments that turn these inanimate and benign photographs into pornographic fantasies.

And now for some examples of said "benign" photographic camera-generated imagery....

https://www.girlswithmuscle.com/1006083/

https://www.girlswithmuscle.com/1644837/
https://www.girlswithmuscle.com/1019834/
https://www.girlswithmuscle.com/1580630/
https://www.girlswithmuscle.com/1423391/

Now then, as you'll no doubt agree with my biased view, solely a pervert could ever see something SO benign as something NSFW, or, dare I say it, something of a sexual nature! Oh dear... getting lightheaded... keep it together Bigglesworth!

How much longer do these poor women have to be subjected to that most vilest of evils, the male gaze? Despite logging in frequently, I do NOT come to photo section to slobber and slather all over these benign photographs because I have no interest in that, and thus neither should you!

Toodles,

Viscount Bigglesworth, non-slobberer of benign photography
