I hope vovin1000 give some input on this thread. "WWORLD CLASS, WOW BOING!!!"
i view this site fundamentally as a porn site. am i in the minority? i don't know what makes a "good" comment and what doesn't, but i wouldn't expect too much from a porn site.
Elusive - "...The guy is well behaved". I believe that 53,000 worthless posts suggest otherwise.
Also: it's "you're", not "your" when you write "...your sitting on high" and "...your itching...".

Congratulation on the spelling Lord Farnsworth. If you were only so astute when it came to your attitude it would go over better.
Chainer - it's the reference in cgsweat's comment that turns innocuous dumbass statements to consequential ones and completely negates comments by elusive1 and others. Who has elected vovin1000 as the arbiter of which photos should be highly placed as "Recently Commented" by virtue of comments such as "woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow"?
While it is wonderfully tempting to call moron posters exactly what they are, I certainly appreciate your inclination that throwing bile at the problem might just make it worse. Perhaps better would be a "thumbs up/down" counter-button which could serve as a filtering mechanism to ultimate hide posts from dumbass posters and prevent those posts from elevating photographs in the "Recently Commented" section.
Still, It would be nice to be able to have my say without consequence...
My guy.... Maybe I'm reiterating my point one time too many here. But reading this comment of yours really makes me think there something worth talking about.
Let's put aside the discussion on the (de)merits of low effort comments for a sec. The central message I get from your post is "I am angry because others are allowed to use this site in a way I don't like, and I am not able to do anything about it" . And you are really eager to find a way to regulate and judge this behaviour of others.
Chainer has already given practical reasons why such a regulation does not exist at the moment. I think it's clear that no favoritism exists towards anybody.
What are you really asking for, ideally? The right to roam around the site, telling others how stupid they are for their stupid comments with impunity (either with words or, by deleting the posts, or through some voting system)? That...honestly doesn't seem like a lot of fun to me... I don't see how it would enhance your browsing experience. If you feel some need for catharsis, I really suggest you look somewhere else than GWM.
Low effort comments (being distinct from the offensive-demeaning-toxic ones which we're not discussing here) are not a menace to the community. I myself don't understand the appeal of these commenting habits. And I do think the site would be better off without them, if anything.
But honestly, I here for very different reasons than policing the harmless ways in which others enjoy the site... And I really think you could benefit from letting this go at this point.

Okay. Is it just me, or am I like REALLY, REALLY anal about what others post in the photo section? In the fora, the posts there are more to my arbitrary level of what constitutes as a passable level of perspicacity (pretty much...). But underneath the photographic camera-generated imagery, there seems to be an almost inexhaustible quantity of truly daft commentary, that I shan't abide! Please listen to me, I am very, very important.

You're NOT WRONG!! I have NEVER SEEN a picture get a comment talking much about training techniques, or competition results, nutritional advice,etc. 99.9% of the guys (and a few girls) are here to look at and drool over a basically ENDLESS SUPPLY of pictures of GORGEOUS muscular women!!! I agree. Maybe it's not TECHNICALLY porn but c'mon!!

Yes, you creating a flamewar under every picture would be so much better... What exactly do you think your posts would accomplish, other than creating bigger back-and-forth messes in the comments? (The real answer is your own self-aggrandizement of course, regardless of any answer you give)

This isn't quite true. An account has been required to comment for almost all of the site's history (except maybe the first few months to a year, in 2008-9). What was changed recently was that now an account is required to see the image comments at all, whereas up until ~6 months ago unregistered users could read comments as well.
I stand corrected-- my statement was not true at all and I appreciate your gracious correction. I fired that off without thinking twice-- maybe a symptom of the subject problem?

I think this is an outstanding idea, assuming the subject "problem" is actually that big of a deal rather than a minor annoyance.
Complaining about the quality of image comments is like watching advertisements and complaining about the crass commercialism. The stupidity is part of the fun. It also makes a diamond in the rough all that more special. Sometimes people share a piece of biographical information about the model, or an amusing comment, or an observant metaphor about her physique.
I didn't even recognize vovin dude, although I've undoubtedly seen some of his 53,000 remarks. The simplest solution would involve creating a button to allow users to ignore/mute/vanish other members.
This asshole literally just joined the site three months ago and he's crying about the comments.
Some of us have literally been here for years. In Farnsworth walks and starts saying he wants carte blanche freedom to straighten the site out and how we'd ALL benefit from his policing people. His last thread I saw him participate in was only....slightly better.
Asshole just got here. When's he leaving?
This is literally the first and only time I've EVER engaged somebody in a flame war on this site in 13-14 years.

i try to moderate photo comments as if they were on my own IG. Like I don't care about low effort wows or stuff. Boings are an auto delete, anything about jacking off or the results, vulgar stuff. I don't look to far down recent comments--you're right, my brain suffers for it so I only go so deep and hope people report the worst stuff.
averaging 10 comments a day since sign up is quite a feat. yikes.
Thanks for making my point. Nobody invited you into my thread and if you don't like what you read here, then why don't you just follow your own advice and leave? Not so easy, is it?

In our latest episode of The Childish Implosion of Lord Farnsworth: It's gone poorly for the punch drunk guy as he points his finger at me for being a hypocrite by saying NO to his stoopid idea. Plus blaming me for taking part in a public forum. Could somebody explain the concept of PUBLIC forum to the professor before he makes his thought provoking thesis and his small contribution to the travesty.
So far he has multiple people calling him out on his outlandish idea of him having carte blanche on the site. Guy just walks into the site and starts belittling the poor peons who inhabit the place.
I swear to you I'm NOT making this up. This is actually happening!! There's more....
Chiperpip (and his....bile) have said NO to the idea of Lord Farnsworth. Yet there's STILL no stopping Lord Farnsworth as he tries to take total control of a place he never built.
Stay tuned next week as Lord Farnworth moves into Buckingham Palace and gets INDIGNANT to the ingrates as they say NO to him hanging a sex swing in the TV room.
