Cant help it but the whole bodybuilding business is fucked up. I am not surprised and wouldnt be surprised if things like that happen on a regular basis. In my personal experience its an environment where people are always with one foot in jail. Across gender, age and location.

I am confused….so the girl in question is her own daughter not another family member? Surely that changes things maybe we should give her the benefit of doubt or am I missing something?

There have been rumours about her editing pictures. There is definitely something off about her

Curious to know why she moved to Dubai?

A while ago Aleesha Y had some controversy regarding a gofundme campaign. Most of these mainstream fbbs on tik tok who go viral are fake

The fact that its her own daughter only changes things for worse

Someone responded to the post saying she's known Stephanie for years (lives in the same state she used to) and she knows much more about the situation. She says it's a lot worse than people know and that the child faced a lot of abuse. Stephanie no longer has custody of the child. So anyone suggesting that Steph might be a victim herself is wrong, at least according to people who actually knew Steph and the child. That's why people are as upset about this as they are.

Not to mention the psychological abuse her daughter must have taken as a result of having a narcissist for a mother.

Not doubting that this has happened. It is just kinda painful to even follow the gossip, knowing that every second word that comes out of a bbs mouth has somebody else as a target. And if people call somebody out, then its usually not because they are seeking the truth but because they have unfinished business.

Phil Heath against Kai Greene, Dave Palumbo against Bob CHicerillo against Seth Feroce. Its never a modest conversation, there are always threats and accusations and rumors. I have received info about a row between two tanning companies in Germany backj in the days, that felt like a dodgy 70s Mafia movie. Bribery, violence, public accusations .... only the strong survive. There is so much dishonest activity that its always easy to put the blame on almost anybody.

here's the chain as i know it:

  • someone must have submitted evidence of her altering her photos (specifically a stage photo that was easily identified) because she had more than once appeared in his comments, and by his admission had been sending him accounts of other people who were photoshopping their own content. i think that's why he initially ran the story--she's not the first to blow the whistle only to find out she is also in the group of editors

  • after he posted they had a private back and forth (which he posted). she doubled down despite clear evidence, then blocked him. his usual MO is to then dig a little deeper and see if there is more to it. sometimes the loudest voices have something to hide. amongst this she started doing that thing where she was posting passive aggressive boomer memes about being misunderstood blah blah blah on her account along with bragging that all the attention was giving her clicks (and money) on her OF.

  • this is where he appears with the story (which triggered the WoS post that triggered this thread). He posted the receipts from the court filings. He went to law school, so I think he's a little more knowledgeable than most of us about the language and the implication of the filings and the outcome. Turns out she's a shitty person. Personally, aiming to be a "badass bitch" doesn't seem very attractive to me when you act like one. Anyways, at this point she deactivates her main IG account, goes back to her lawyer team and they send the letter to goob which is his most recent post on the subject.

  • she has since moved to her alt account which she historically used for clients, but looks like it hadn't been active since 2021. Since I first checked it over 100 posts have been scrubbed, the account name changed, bio removed referencing her main (deactivated) account. she has continued to post cryptic boomer memes and statements with poor grammar as well as a photo with her daughter saying that she, too, was a victim of abuse in the situation. Her coach has advised her to shut down her account until after she competes so if you want a quick glimpse from her end nows the time to do it.

-sub note here: it seems that the guy in question was her bf at the time, and NOT the father of the child. she claims she has joint custody with the father. clearly, if she lives in dubai, she probably doesn't spend too much time with her daughter unless she is stateside

  • there is no evidence of "why" she moved to Dubai. It could be for tax reasons in terms of what she is currently earning (there is no personal income tax). She could be an escort out there--it's possible that authorities and officials might look the other way, but I have a feeling that very wealthy people out there like sessioning with female bodybuilders (this is not the first or second I have heard of it). she could have a VERY well paying trainer job out there--I personally knew someone who was a crossfit trainer there for a while and he was making very good money (six figures) at a gym run by a royal. there's nothing to suggest she went to Dubai to escape the reach of the law, at least not yet.

  • on the TikTOk note-yeah there have been a few bodybuilders i've seen blow up that are clearly not their account. no one writes captions or runs accounts like that unless you're a dude trying to catfish people.

purely speculation, but my gut feeling is that her rapid and clearly reactionary response is a result of flight/fight mode and trying to protect her interests. personally i would seek out a lawyer BEFORE making any kind of response. and I'm personally shocked that she hasn't been advised to shut up completely--according to her IG story from today she will be going on podcasts to "tell her side fo the story"

iroinically this could have been nipped in the bud if she had admitted to photoshopping her photos. Goob himself said that he saw her live at a show and said she looked incredible, and a common theme is that he always says that all these people look great, there's no reason to shop their photos like this. but only a few of the people he's called out have actually copped up to doing it without getting offensive. that's all she had to do!!

***Fresh note as I'm writing this--she has already deleted all the stories she has posted on her alt account so there's nothing to see there now.

Oh wow I take back my comments I thought she might have been a victim seeing as it was her own daughter involved.

Hope the daughter is doing well. I assume the ex husband has full custody.

Well thanks for the lengthy clarification.

As or the Dubai move: I can second that that there is high demand for female bodybuilders, seems like there is a fortune to be made. Guys, often Saudis, preferred meeting point in the relatively liberal Emirates (those double standards !)

As for the photoshop topic: its beyond believe that something like that boils up to a point that somebody withdraws from the scene. This is like 13 year old kids throwing dirt at each other. Sad enough that some feel the pressure to photoshop (where it is not necessary), but why calling out on that, whats the point? That "Goob" has his page plastered with fake picure claims, how can an adult spend valuable time like that? Is he working in some special role for the IFBB Pro, moral advisor, or marketing manager?

I can only iterate, and watching from the sideline: the bb community is lost. They do things other people would not do. Not in this regularity.

Welcome to every online community in 2022.

I am also having my personal experiences in mind and .... there is some sort of violance and overlaps to criminal activities that are not so easy to find in other communities. The Steph story is one of m a n y that I have heard or came across during the recent decades.

all of this started because Goob ran a story on a competitor/trainer who claimed to have cancer, raked in a bunch of sympathy money on a gofundme, only to find out that she didn't have cancer AT ALL and had been lying for years (this is the Lydia Knoll story). I forget the next couple of stories he ran, but it's not always about photoshop. sometimes it's about people offering services and then ghosting people that pay them, often as much as $150, and sometimes blocking them.

i think people are just tired of all the fake natty claims, the lying, and this kind of beahavior. he's the only one to call it out consistently which is osmething after all of the shelby starnes stuff that amounted to nothing.

The sport where drug abuse is encouraged and you die at the age of 50 while being called great never had much potential of attracting normal humans and giving birth to a healthy community

OK, again, thanks for the clarification.

I still dont get it what makes somebody do it. If the community is that bad that the whole focus on social media is to call people out, then why not leave it. If it was single occasions then its something different, but why waste some time on it when its useless.

Here in Austria we have one physique athlete who had an agreeement with a nutrition company: posting ads and getting vouchers in return (because they never pay in cash). At some point they stopped sending the vouchers and then it happened again: she dragged it out into the public on social media, the company was pulling out old mails, forth and back. Turns out they did not even have a contract, everyting was based on verbal agreements.

And thats the way it works there: people push through their interest via different means. I am not surprised to hear that Stephs lawyer did send threats, I have met a laywer having plenty of bodybuilders as clients and even a close relation to the local bodybuilding association: tattoed, having some fighting pitbulls, close to the MMA scene. This is the norm, and not the exception.

well one way to look at it is what prq123 said: bodybuilding has enough stigma why let easily fixable stuff keep going that way?

ultimately, it will always come back to money. bad pr is bad pr for these companies and there is always someone new and hot for them to promote their product who aren't getting public ire. At least in the case of 1stphorm they even rewrote their contracts to allow them to drop people if they are misrepresenting themselves (aka photoshopping images).

in some states a verbal agreement is a legally binding contract, if there is evidence (it is here in california, where it's also a two party consent state in terms of recording someone).

as far as repercussions, some of this stuff is not going to move the legal needle--some will, maybe, see his posts on Roger Huynh where he was caught DMing girls as young as 14 and asking about their virginity while posing as a young 20-something, while he was over 30). but right now people feel a need to levy their own punishment since it's cheap to yell on social media.

personally, i think someone scamming people out of money should be made known so more people don't fall for their shtick. Or if they are a bad coach (one comment i saw said that Flesher had been too aggressive in the PED protocol and a woman had serious health concerns. hilarious, if true, since she was one of the loudest voices railing again Shelby Starnes and that diaretics issue) it could mean other things.

Oct 20, 2022 - permalink

Its the same here in Austria, a verbal agreement is legally binding - but it is not smart. Its the kind of dodgy business that people do when they want to leave all kind of options to themselves.

I agree that people should be charged for what they have done. I would just wish it would come from some accountable unit, rather than from some self acclaimed justice fanatic (in particular when coming from the bb community which makes it almost impossible not to be in touch with bad conduct). The IFBB Pro league would be such an authority. They hold the contracts with the athletes, they should have some sort of whistle blowing system and dealing with the accusations in a professional manner.

It also makes me sad to hear that story, because it is more than likely that its happening in other places without anybody hearing from it. Probably most of us have met a hardcore athlete personally and know how they are: given the right circumstances - a bad cycle, a hard diet, personal problems - they are capable of doing almost anything. Again: why does the IFBB pro league not take notice: they could install private and anonymous psycholigal treatment. Or develop some kind of exit strategy for those athletes struggling.

If thats the the best they can come up with: bodybuilders looking each other over the shoulder, then good luck guys. Cause its only getting worse.

i mean it's probably almost always been this way. probably a little worse since there's more people doing it (bodybuilding) than ever, but now there's a big platform for people to fuck up on and the internet never forgets. you can't just move to another city or state/country and people will forget about you and can't find you anymore, those days are long gone.

if stephanie had been working in something more traditional and wasn't "running her own business" she'd still be pretty radioactive given the court docs, even if it was pled down to a misdemeanor. i know that job applications will ask if you've been charged (maybe convicted, i don't remember) of a felony but a background check within that time would have pulled this up anyway, at least until it was expunged from her record.

her only "mistake" here was not realizing that people see things and don't necessarily mention it to you. there are a half dozen fbb types that i follow that i've caught friends, who claim they don't like the look of fbbs, following. People (aka married men) get caught in comments and dms all the time and outed to their wives. she got popular really fast, it went to her head most likely, and she didn't take some time to manage any of it, just cashed in on the OF payday.

THAT one surprised me. Wittman is a big name in the photography circles. Does stage stuff, idk if anything more than that but doesn't have any sites to sell stuff. Never heard a bad thing about him.

Here's a few comments:

@snider83 I’m not at all coming to his defense but it’s really strange that he got so much time and she ended up serving two days! I’m from Indiana, and grew up with Nate. I honestly could never see him doing something like that but that’s another conversation..Yes, I have read all of the court documents. Just can’t wrap my head around it. There have been a lot of child molestation cases in my area and I’ve never seen someone get so much time.. even repeat offenders. Oddly enough she definitely has a history of trying to get guys locked up after they end relationships with her..steer clear!

@w_wittmannphoto She also was the one trying to lie to police that James in some way intimidated her at a show while he was 1 row away from me lol chick is neurotic at best, mentally fucked at worst

@ryangthomas_ Used to workout at the gym I worked at. Didn’t have positive things to about her either and this was way before ever on the map in bodybuilding, like 2010. Believe she’s sponsored by a brand I know and trust too. Just sad. Def gonna have to reach out now
