Just wondering, could a user not just un-favourite and re-favourtie an image to bump it to the front page? I know I use this on my own favs to help rediscover images added a long time ago

Jul 06, 2022 - context

I think I prefer "recently commented," but let's see how this works, why not?

The velocity of change is way faster for "recently favorited."

Jul 06, 2022 - context

I like it; I think it’s an interesting solution to the stated problem.

Jul 06, 2022 - context

Bring back recently commented, far more interesting.

Jul 06, 2022 - context

The recently favorited pictures turn over at warped speed, as images are commented on a ton less.

yep, I'm fine with it especially with how quickly the images are changing.

For me it's not a good change, but what can we do.

It's not a fair comparison, since Most Recent favorites has only been open an hour or so. I'd expect more correspondence in the long-term. Anyway, this is revealing a different type of psychology. Some viewers have 10's of thousands of favorites - they're totally indiscriminate. That's what I think you're seeing here. Most of these aren't noteworthy pictures. Making a pic your favorite is too easy. I prefer someone having to write a sentence, or at least a comment of a few words.

Agree

And I've loved this site for years

Recently commented was the best part of the homepage, shame it's gone

Jul 06, 2022 - context

The top section of the homepage is a dropdown menu. If the various photo sections on the homepage could be expandable like the top section, that would allow people to open the sections they find most relevant.

In light of cgsweat's Most Subscribed Names thread, I was wondering if a Most Subscribed section has ever been considered.

Given the overwhelming number of images and videos uploaded on this site, it may be a good way to help new visitors see which ladies are the most popular. It'd almost serve like a Start Here section. You cut out the middle man and get straight to the good stuff, since users are typically subscribed to ladies with a lot of high quality images and videos.

It could also encourage more people to use the subscribe function, not only to be notified of new content from specific girls, but to get them front and center on the website's Home page.

It may seem redundant since there is already a High Score Today section, but it changes every 24 hours, and a girl that's popular that day might not have more noteworthy content. On the other hand, users may be more likely to visit someone's gallery if they have a high subscriber count.

I could understand an argument about replacing Recently Favorited with something else, and if anyone has any better ideas then we're willing to hear you out. Otherwise Chainer outlined the problem with Recently Commented in the original post to this thread.

For those interested in viewing the recently commented section, it has not disappeared. I already provided a direct link to the full list of recently commented images. Otherwise, if your interest is to find higher quality comments, you can periodically browse through the comments of specific users through their own profile page, users who seem to leave comments that are to your satisfaction. If you're more interested in images that have the most comments, there is a direct link for that as well.

There are still many ways to keep up with comments. All that changed is it takes a couple of extra clicks now to view that specific arrangement of images.

This is the current list of Recently Favorited. I actually do not see anything recently posted or from the high score list.

Jul 05, 2022 - context

If it ain't broke, don't fix it

So, what's the difference between "Recently Posted" and "Recently Favorited"? It's kinda obvious recent pictures gonna be instant fav, right? It's also confilt with the "High Score Today" section too, because if a high scored pic is faved, it will appear in "Recently Favorited" too.

I agree, the "Recently Commented" was better, because somtimes, peoples found the name of unammed pics and write their names in the comment secion. Kinda useful.

Recently commented images are still searchable.

yea i agree i dont think bumping was an issue and it let me see old pictures i really liked. if anything the bump is a good thing imo

Jul 05, 2022 - context

I don't think this is better. It overlaps with Most Popular pictures in the past 24 hours. I'd rather see what's stirring comments than see more people following the latest hot pics.

Edit: Because this was both unpopular and didn't accomplish the original goal of significantly reducing the low quality image comment count, I have undone this change.

The problem with the "Recently Commented" section was that it created a link between leaving a comment to bumping an image to the front page, thus incentivizing low-effort comments just to get an image more attention. This incentive no longer exists, since recently commented images no longer show up on the front page.

My hope is the new "Recently Favorited" section has more or less the same benefit as Recently Commented did (showing you a selection of images other users are interacting with that you might not have otherwise seen) without the drawback of incentivizing behavior we don't want.

I've just found out there is a similar tool for flickr images. First you have to find an image with a flickr-filename like

{some (10?) numbers} _ {some (10?) hexadecimal characters (0-9,a-f)} _ {o for original, b for big?, l for large?}.jpg

You copy the first group consisting of the numbers and paste it after https://www.flickr.com/photo.gne?id=

It works fine and may have a higher success rate than the facebook tool (tested for some old, unknown favorites only). For example: https://www.girlswithmuscle.com/95910/ you find the source name 4295025979_0d295c8715_b.jpg and the flickr search page is https://www.flickr.com/photo.gne?id=4295025979 and this page redirects you to https://www.flickr.com/photos/edermelo/4295025979/. You get the image title (Florianópolis - SC Jurêrê Internacional), some other informations (photo taken on 2010-01-15), but not the name of the woman (unfortunately). Looking at the source code you get the link to the original image: https://live.staticflickr.com/2729/4295025979... which is much larger. (Question: How can I get the current image replaced by the larger image? Do I have to upload the larger image first and then report the smaller image? Is there another way?)

The flickr page even tells you if the image still exists, but is set to private. Example:

with filename 1350732381_b58e4e1631.jpg (last part with the single letter seems to be missing) will get you this message: https://www.flickr.com/photo.gne?id=1350732381

I guess this works for public available photos only. In most cases you get an error message.

Yes most profiles are private anymore. Facebook isn't nearly as fruitful as it used to be. Even if you do have access to a private profile, 9 times out of 10 there's nothing muscle related in it anyway.

For facebook images you can try following technique (although low success rate, < 10 %): If you know the filename

{some numbers}-{some numbers}_{some numbers}_n.jpg

you copy the middle group of numbers and paste it after https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=

This way I was able to identify the girl of

as Anja Zeidler (source name is 10345738_10152513278494686_9042155704952063414_n.jpg and facebook search page is https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152...).

I guess this works for public available photos only. In most cases you get an error message.
