As soon as I saw this article about Slava, my first thought was I've got to see the comments. She's often mentioned here as the biggest woman with the best chance of appealing to the mainstream, and I'd agree with that. Not surprised, but still disappointed to see the comments running about 90% negative. Personally, I've come to the conclusion that after four decades of exposure to female bodybuilders, society has had plenty of time to make up its mind, and the needle isn't likely to move much.

Confirmation bias. Daily Mail comments are usually straight up trash from trash people. It’s not surprising that most of the comments on that article are negative. Plus, while yes, female bodybuilding is still relatively stigmatized by the general public, articles about sex workers (including OF creators,) usually get negative comments. Despite how many people watch porn, for some reason men in general don’t like women who profit from their bodies.
So while, yes, I’m sure she gets some negative responses to her being a muscular woman, the comments on that article in general are more reflective of the readership of that particular publication and that she makes money from her physique.
I've seen other articles there about OF creators, and people do have a bias about what that says about them as a person which provokes comments about their character. This article however focuses on her appearance as do the comments. I read them all, none of them criticize what she does for a living. OF comes up a couple of times, but it's in the context of the money spent there and this publication's propensity to write articles about it.
I have seen Vladi posted on reddit mainstream pages before and the comments were overwhelmingly positive, lots of "snusnu" and people being really positive about her look. I think Daily Mail is a special case of it being a trash rag with a really trashy community of commenters insecure about their sexuality.
Some ppl do be using some stuff just to post negative comments and hate. There are bare ppl who use twitter for example just to hate so im not rly suprised here
Sheer number of transphobe comments in there kind of tells you the demographic. Those comments basically read as the old white person with sunglasses posing for a smile-less selfie in the front seat of a car meme. The Only Fans and Kendall Jenner stuff is a big enough hurdle to get past, let alone the female bodybuilder angle. All that being said, it’s still far from mainstream, just not quite as explosive of a negative response as this site indicates.
I hate to bring bad news .but the daily mail comments are probably closer to what the average person thinks vs Reddit .since Reddit has very heavy moderation and a lot of weird people .but the average daily mail user is also way older .so it could be a generational issue. the average Reddit user is like an 18 year old geek .while the average daily mail user is some 40 year old worker. that only uses daily mail and Facebook a few minutes a day. And then watches tv or reads books when not working.

1) Transphobes
2) Men who are upset when women profit from their bodies
3) Commenters who are insecure about their sexuality

Frankly I was stunned by the negativity and vitriol in the comments. It’s true that Slava and FBBs depart from traditional female gender norms but this level of unacceptance was surprising. I still personally believe that a vast number of these haters are deeply insecure people who would lash out at anyone or anything that threatens them. Truly sad.

Uggggh. Former NJ resident, so can confirm that the NY Post is the worst newspaper in that entire region. Honestly wonder how they keep any advertisers with how toxic their comment sections usually are.
It's so sad and frustrating how disingenuous the trans thing is for these idiots. On one hand, they look at fully transitioned women and are like "MEN CAN'T BE WOMEN, BIOLOGY IS FIXED!!!"
On the other hand they look at a f--ing beautiful woman who merely has bigger muscles than usual and are like "SHE MIGHT AS WELL BE A MAN! HE'S A TRANS!" Like damn, you wouldn't think it would be that easy.
Life is so much better when you just worry about your own problems and enjoy the things that you enjoy. I seriously don't know how those people make it to the end of the day. Do they just look forward to another 24 hours of being a complete POS?

NY Post is, like Daily Mail, another tabloid that writes sensational headlines and articles and attracts a trash audience. Yes, a muscular woman is still seen as “unusual” in the mainstream, but don’t mistake the awful vitriol on those articles as common perception.
going to news sources where the audience skews older will of course yield this result. I would go to social accounts that repost her stuff (or even her own accounts, but third party i guess might be better) to see what random commentors would say that skew a little younger. it would probably be closer to 50/50 than 99% awful, and certainly not 50/50, but closer lol
Agreed, you guys are definitely right. I can see how Slava is threatening to this demographic.
She's independent. She's strong. She's choosing not to adhere to their beauty and gender norms. She exists for herself and not as a sexual object for them. She's earning more money than most of them could ever dream of. She's getting articles written about her, and those morons are just commenting on it.

Again, I get the look isn't for everyone and I'm not into the big steroid look as it often does lead to masculinity, I prefer a more natural look. Vlad's face is beautiful in comparison to many female bodybuilders. Hopefully her drug use doesn't ruin that in the near future, but you can see it has changed in recent years.
I'm surprised people don't say she looks like she's fake, or a cartoon or similar, because the face does not match the body lol why more people aren't focusing on her beautiful face instead of saying she is trans lol
What people out there are saying about Vladislava Galagan is the exact reason I get frustrated whenever I see a mainstream celeb image on this site with a "no muscle" comment. It's like people from this community can't (or refuse) to take a step back look at things in the context of the real world. Read some comments about Carrie Underwood's legs at some awards show where she dared show some definition in her quads. Gross, too far, and manly were some of the nicer ones. This is also one of the reasons I respect so many of these ladies who could choose to be conventionally attractive, but instead chart their own path and make up their minds what's beautiful to them.

I can't speak for Asian people, but I hang out with enough black dudes to know that a pretty brunette with thick & strong legs is going to be very much appreciated in their company LOL.
