> What is the criteria for deciding the winner?
Not sure anyone but Jake Wood knows that for sure, and he's not telling...
He's also not sitting in a judges' chair. If you ask his opinion, I'm sure he'll be happy to let you know what he likes, but I highly doubt he has any interest in changing hats to move into the judging lane himself.
It's a stacked line up for 2023:
Andrea Shaw, MayLa Ash, Michaela Aycock, Leah Dennie, Reshanna Boswell, Nicki Chartrand, Desunka Dawson, Chelsea Dion, Julia Foery, Rene Marven, LaDawn McDay, Kristina Mendoza, Sheena Ohlig, Sherry Priami, Virginia Sanchez, Melissa Teich, Tina Williams, Anjie Yeo

I personally asked Natalia Kovaleva. She will not do Rising Phoenix. Will concentrete on Olympia prep.
as she should, i think. it's her first O, she should focus on that instead of doing a tune up show. if she places she can do a tune up next year, like andrea and agie are doing right now.
i think angie will make a strong push she is looking a bit more massive than last year.

Yes I agree. From her words two shows is hard to do and doing three shows in one year- the body does not have time to recover.
Is that somehow validates an opinion? Or maybe the number of posts or how long….?
It was a question. "Yes", "no" or "maybe" would generally be the most common responses sought, though you're certainly under no obligation to answer.
For some reason, you called another poster a "fanboy". Did you make that statement as a compliment to that poster?

You’re being disingenuous with your response. Was almost certainly a way for you to try and discredit my opinion. Not sure why unless you have too much time on your hands. I’ve read your other replies to know as much.
And yes I did not use the term fanboy as a compliment. Kristina has improved but I don’t think she’s gone up against the women she’ll compete at the higher level.

I appreciate the answer to my follow-up question, however, I do feel you are attempting to gaslight me by accusing me of trying to gaslight you. Surely one who buys a ticket to a women's bodybuilding event is quite the fan, no? You wanted to discredit the other guy, so by reflex you assume the same is being done to you. The thing is, I have no desire to discredit either of you guys' opinions on this specific topic. There's nothing wrong with your thinking or with his. It's completely reasonable to disagree about the rankings when you're talking about the best of the best in the entire world.
I LOVE Andrea Shaw and think she's been amazing for women's bodybuilding, deserving every accolade she has earned. But as a fanboy, I'm rooting for Angela Yeo to capture the crown this year.
Andrea Shaw and Angela Yeo have just been called out to go against each other (final callout of the pre judges)
Both so different characters, the way they style, the way they pose. Both great in their own way.
Angela comes in good shape and size, and still Andrea is a step ahead in almost any pose (apart from the front lat spread maybe).
This one will go to Andrea.

love that this is a preview perhaps of the O. Angie did a ton of work this off season. but shaw definitely has years of having tha tkind of size while angie just arrived 2 years ago really. she was doing figure shows 4 years ago almost
just went through femalebodybuildingchannel's stories with some of the lineups and routines:
Chelsea Dion looks GREAT
Aycock and Dion in 3rd or 4th, not sure yet.
another coverage has Angie scored first, she looks fucking peeled out there and is noticiably bigger and fuller than last year
Teich may get herself in the top 8, she looks great out there even if she doesnt' have some of the dramatic shapes
Mendoza may get into the top 8 as well. AFter removing Yeo and Shaw they did call outs that had michaela/chelsea for 3/4 and 3-4 other women out with them
EDIT: FBBC is saying that judges have Melissa Teich at 3 and Aycock at 4 with Ash and Chsela looking for 5-6. kinda wild that Melissa coming out nowhere is similar to yeo, though she's not got the same shaspes. both heavy into powerlifting. excited to see Hunter come out of hibernation next season for that reason
Not at all. Lisa has won a pro show and also placed as high as 2nd at Tampa Pro, which is one of their bigger events.
This question comes up every year and every year, the answer is still no.
Anita Gandol was suspended by the IFBB for doing Playboy back in the 80s. That was almost 40 years ago. Since then, a competitor's off-stage work has had no impact on his or her placings. The judges judge what they see on the stage.
