Heather Armbrust on schmoes

Apr 11, 2022 - edited Apr 11, 2022 - permalink

Sometimes, we get a bodybuilder's perspective on how they view schmoes. I stumbled upon this interview Heather Armbrust of from Muscleweek years ago. She is asked about schmoes, and she goes into it quite a bit. The interview is linked here, but here is the excerpt if you only want to read that part. What are your thoughts?

MW: Ok enough about the competitive side of bodybuilding. Lets talk about what everyone wants to know about. The SCHMOES!…Whats your thought on schmoes? Do you find it creepy that someone who has most likely never had sex with a women and is a social reject is the main supporter and financial supporter or not only female bodybuilding but bodybuilders in general?

HA: Well, since you put it that way! Damn! LOL There are those guys but most are very normal dudes. Some of it is undeniably creepy, yes. I have a love hate relationship with them. I have never been attracted to regular bodies so I get it. What I don’t get is how someone that doesn’t even work out can desire a bb so much. There is something to that that I find odd. We all have our likes and turn ons. Im sure most the people reading this have a porn collection or a furry suit they put on to masturbate, so what makes that ok but the skinny 56 year old accountant is a freak cause he likes to wrestle with muscular woman for his own sexual release? That’s his thing. Is it creepy to me that he wants to wrestle me.. yes, but I don’t judge that. Its like the media having a hay day with a juiced wrestler killing his family while 50 other dudes killed their families that same week, but know one knows about those. We focus on what is brought to light and we love to thrive on the negative.. no matter how fucking positive you say you are! Its just more prevalent and talked about in bb like it is some negative thing. It does take away from the fact that these are talented athletes but fbb and some male don’t get the respect from the industry that they should anyhow which is obvious in its lack of financial support. I know that the top pros get much less weird schmoe related shit. I get very little. I do have what may be considered schmoe fans but that’s cool with me as long as they are respectful and don’t talk stupid. I don’t think of them as schmoes. Ironically guys that are not bb and support fbb are instantly labeled schmoes and I think that is totally unfair. NO ONE in this industry is qualified to judge shit! Like we talked about, these people take themselves WAY too seriously thinking their opinion is serious business. There are people in it doing way worse stuff than asking some big ass bitch to carry them around. I know plenty of them personally. Its just easy for a bunch of insecure assholes to belittle others so they can feel better and take the heat off their dirty laundry. Some of those same people are at home with their kiddy porn. Sexual drive makes the world go round.. it motivates and sells. Its all in how you want to look at it. If you give the schmoe world a negative connotation.. then that is what it means and that is what the industry has done. The guys have their schmoes too which is even more taboo.. and way less talked about. There are so many different weird ass fetishes and underground freaky things that people do but just cause its not spun negatively like our industry does with schmoes we don’t think about it. I think the schmoe thing is given way too much energy. The “schmoes” that follow and support me are very much like me. They just love a body with muscles. Can I blame them? I don’t even call them schmoes though. There are things that do creep me out but I don’t give it energy. I may get a little pissed at it for a second, shudder, then I move on. My advice to the schmoes is to at least go lift some fucking weights.

I agree 100% with her. By the way, I love this interview.

Heather Armbrust is very interesting at least more open minded than most women.

The fact is that all the stuff she lists as "nothing too weird" is far weirder to me than the stuff she hates. It just shows that any value statement on an individual's kinks is invalid, assuming they do no harm.

She doesn't understand "opposites attract"?

I don't have big tits either. Why is it so hard to understand?

I can kind of understand where she is coming from. I think she is looking at it more through a lifestyle perspective versus a “fetish” perspective. Being a bodybuilder, or really being any strength athlete at a high level is a pretty significant lifestyle commitment. It’s clean eating, hard training, not a lot of nights out along with going out for food/drinks, etc. For as much as people here probably want to get with a fbb, or any kind of muscular woman, I am kind of curious if they would be willing to live that same lifestyle too. It also explains why so many of them get with male bodybuilders.

I am not a bodybuilder, but I do compete in strength sports, and while I have always been into muscular women, I feel that ever since getting into lifting myself, that I am MORE attracted to them.

does anyone else think the male power fantasy plays into their love for muscular women? in other words--men tend to imagine themselves as a Superman or an Arnold, and if you admire that kind of look on men, even if it's not sexual, that might transfer to women?

i find a huge amount of anime lovers LOVE muscle mommies. It helps that there are a lot of strong (and strong-looking) anime women.

the ratio is different, for sure, but there are plenty of normal women that get tired of their bf or gf's bodybuilding shtick.

but then again many of you are in love with the result but would probably struggle with what you don't see on social media.

Anecdotal, yes, but my parents are basically waiting for me to settle with anything with a vagina and two legs that will go out with me. Reality is, do I think they would be ok with me spending 90 minutes in the gym five to six times a week? Plus other activity that I like to do? I would rather do that with a woman who is also interested in that--doesn't have to be the same amount, could be more, or less, but I never want to justify why I do what i like to do.

so her perspective makes sense since she's in the lifestyle--she might be seeing it from a the birdseye view, while most of us just see what's in front of us

I understand that angle but the question was very clearly phrased in a way that it was just referencing the fetish angle:

"Do you find it creepy that someone who has most likely never had sex with a women and is a social reject is the main supporter and financial supporter or not only female bodybuilding but bodybuilders in general?"

Obviously trying to work some humor in there but think it's pretty clear that they're talking about the typical session experience rather than any kind of relationship angle (especially the financial aspect of it).

I was kind of being tongue-in-cheek about opposites attract as there are so many different types of attraction, but that very basic dominant/submissive aspect does rear its head in so many different levels of attraction, and I think unathletic guys being attracted to female bodybuilders is a good example of that, especially if they're going to go to the lengths of paying her for a session to (usually) worship muscles, have her lift/dominate them, etc.

Maybe people are reading a different interview than the one posted. But in this one Heather, like every single other FBB, states that she hates schmoes but she loves their money. That's the one sentence summary, without all the contradictions and hypocritical dressing up.

In her own words.... "...it is undeniably creepy, yes" ... "Is it creepy to me that he wants to wrestle me.. yes, but I don’t judge that" (she just did)

"It does take away from the fact that these are talented athletes but fbb and some male don’t get the respect from the industry that they should anyhow which is obvious in its lack of financial support" (so your talented FBBs have to put up with those creepy schmoes, get tarnished, because no other legitimate business is willing to sponsor them)

"I know that the top pros get much less weird schmoe related shit." (same idea, disgusting and should be minimized but money is money)

"Some of those same people are at home with their kiddy porn. Sexual drive makes the world go round.. it motivates and sells. Its all in how you want to look at it." (so creepy that only a comparison with pedophiles can make her tolerate it and make the sale)

"There are things that do creep me out but I don’t give it energy. I may get a little pissed at it for a second, shudder, then I move on." (max hypocrisy, she hates it but money is good)

"I fucking hate being asked shit like will you put me in scissors......" (multiple times she told you that she hates your guts)

And as a final note here is her advice to you creepy, disgusting, shitty schmoes. "I do have what may be considered schmoe fans but that’s cool with me as long as they are respectful and don’t talk stupid.....My advice to the schmoes is to at least go lift some fucking weights.... Oh and done some personal flexing videos..."

In case you need a translation of her advice, stop being a schmoe, keep the super creepy stuff to yourself, man up lift and grow some muscles and pay up top dollar for flex videos that are now posted by the thousands every day on social media. She wants your money.

lmao good read on it.

this is definitely what people mean when they say "men shouldn't sexualize women" but in her case, despite hating it, she still offers it up for money. Even if she comes from the mindset that she is taking easy money from guys who are willing to pay, is it worth it to have every inch of your body all over the internet?

so many women check out of it because of something getting leaked and a part of them they may or may not keep secret from their personal circles is now out in the open via quick google search.

i have no illusions that i will have a relationship of any kind beyond DMing the women that i've reached out to. if something happens it happens, but my expectations of that are low. heck, i've been trying to get together with one or two women local just to lift and grab a bite and all i get are excuses every time or pushed dates, though i've not asked for "weird" stuff. just vanilla flexing. but they are happy to reach out to me when rent is do.

btw, women have no problem taking advantage of men en masse this way if they know they have numbers.

i just got a note from a girl i follow on TT and IG who i once asked for vids and got blocked. then she started to get big enough on TT--looks like she is "dropping" school (dunno if that is permanent) to pursue a training business on her own, but also is drumming up easy cash on OF.

Last I looked, for the price of $15 a month (which may change) she has posted twerk vids and booty pics and will be offering nude the next month.

In a poll she posted there were 350 answers. That's $5000+ dollars, pre tax. Not to mention she easy collected $1000 in one of those "i will do this if we raise x amount" in like 3 days or less. So before April is out she's made at least SIX THOUSAND, not counting tips, and not counting anything in her DMs that I can't see.

But if she had a dozen or so followers she would close it in a month.

She seemed pretty normal until her divorce, after which she seemed to go "alternative". Mallory Wick did the same thing. I don't know what to make of it, but it seems like a regression. Normally, you get that out of your system when you're young and then you grow up, but maybe that's just who they were all along and were just trying to be live the wife life and it didn't work.

I don't understand why Heather keeps her 2nd name despite being divorced?

Her twitter feed is slightly crazy for a woman in her 40s-50s

Seems to me female bodybuilders who are more conservative orientated seem to be more settled/normal than liberal/feminist athletes

Probably because armburst sounds very cool is used to think it was just a nickname.

Strange take considering all the "conservative" fitness people seem to be Covid denying, fad-endorsing, gun toting, conspiracy spouting maladjusted fake natties.
