Ok, guys... Like seriously, what has happened to the forum section, slowly ramping up in the past year? An epidimic of strange accounts of strange "people" raging that they cannot get with or at least close to female bodybuilders? What is it? An influx of troll bots or is it all the same person since last year's "another year down the drain" (now mostly known as joryboyd)? A network of bots or a potential "Ubisoft always on drm bye bye" situation?
Commercial/Big Box gyms operate on a business model of getting as many people to sign up for memberships as they can, which means banking on the practice of a lot of those people never actually going on a regular basis. If everyone who had a membership at a big box gym like that actually went regularly, the floor would be past capacity. Since there is no specific discipline or sport that commercial gyms promote themselves too, you end up with a general population of gymgoers.
While there are more women than ever before who are going into the weight room and lifting heavy, they are still in the minority of the overall gym-going population. There are more likely to be muscular men than women because, again, men are more likely to have an interest in being visibly muscular and strong versus women. Men also can build muscle much easier as a natty compared to women, and in general are more open to taking PEDs.
The other important thing to consider is that muscular (and by muscular I mean having a physique similar to what we see on GWM) are unfortunately still viewed by many in the general public in a kind of pejorative way. You see any facebook news article about a muscular woman (and by articles, I mean articles that are NOT geared towards other lifters or schmoes) calling them men or saying shit like "that's a dude." While there are muscular women who train at big box commercial gyms, it isn't surprising that they want to be around others who would also be supportive of their lifestyle and are into the same thing. The want of that sense of comradery is why many go to smaller, more bodybuilding focused gyms. Those gyms promote a sense of community that big-box gyms do not, and they feel more welcome and uplifted as a result.
Yes, those smaller gyms are more expensive, but you get what you pay for. If you are serious about bodybuilding and in wanting to get involved in the fitness community, you have to make that investment.
I don't live in some muscle hotbed but I see GWM fairly regularly. I was cutting through downtown last week or the week before and I saw a woman who was probably between bikini and figure holding hands with an average dude as they crossed the street. I'm sitting in my truck as they walk by. I remember thinking that she'd put real work in her delts because they were very good. I am convinced that some guys on here expect GWM to be in full photoshoot glamor mode when they see them in person. Having said that, in my area there are several female only gyms. And a few of the more muscular women I know have decided that the BS they get there is less than the BS they get at normal commercial gym.
So a lot of people give the advice to join specialist bodybuilding or powerlifting gyms to meet more gwm, but it's expensive and can be far away...
I go to a very run of the mill commercial gym, PureGym in the UK, and there are a lot of muscular guys here. Not professional level, but upper intermediate pseudo-bodybuilders and powerlifters who take gym really seriously and push themselves. But I almost never see women pushing themselves here, in fact I only see a woman entering the freeweights section once every few months, most just do cardio and machines and don't look muscular.
How come? I get that most "mainstream" women who go to these gyms are not trying to become muscular, but surely at least 5% of gym going women would be? But in my gym it's literally 0%.
Meet them and do what exactly?

I think getting in shape and shooting your shot is the idea. I don't think there's anything wrong with that as long as you're not being a pervy creep.
In my neighborhood in Brooklyn there are three commercial gyms. You can find GWMs at each one. One of these stands out; members are mostly Millennials and GenZ. Everyone at that gym is in decent shape and most of the women are at least athletic. I walk by on my way to work and there are always one or two GWMs working out in that visible area doing squats, deadlifts or stair master. Just this morning a dark haired GWM was on the stair master, dressed in booty shorts and sports bra, sweaty and muscular.

It's a site frequented by guys who are into muscular women. You don't need a conspiracy to explain why "meeting muscular women" comes up all the time as a conversation topic.
Yes, there have been a few cranks who have strong feelings about this that they insist on pushing everywhere, but even apart from that I'd expect to see various takes on this topic come up a lot.

There are other gyms. You're free to move and join one, but pro tip: most gyms are not set up to be woman-watching arenas.

Ok, so it's just me noticing those legends more lately, since they started carching my attention.
The LA Fitness I go to east of LA has many very fit and athletic women there. Not really super muscular, like bodybuilder type, but they do have a good amount of toned muscle at least. Some are the skinnier pilates type, others are thicker and curvier, especially in the legs and butt. Some have nice backs too. But they're all definitely very nice on the eyes.
your city probably does not have a single one
So I live in a mid sized city of about 100,000 but it is actually oushing way past it's weightclass in terms of having GWM since there is a powerlifting gym and a bodybuilding gym here. I am personally more into powerlifting and I follow two of the girls in the powerlifting gym who are also PHD students at my university, they are national medalists with 1000+ totals. The BB gym also has IFBB bikini pros.
But yeah at my commercial gym it's just 18 year olds or aunties doing random things on a yoga mat and lat pulldowns with the lowest weight. It's actually a good gym in terms of equipment, I have made a lot of gains here over the past 5 years.
Another thing I've noticed is that I've seen muscular women here before, but no REGULARS. The muscular ones I have seen just came once and never again, and it's like a biannual observation.

Very interesting take. Do you think that GWMs are getting harrassed in commercial gyms due to their "exoticness" and rarity, and hence they stop going? A lot of ladies say harrassment is rife in them, although I personally never see any happening.

One of the things casual observers and bad actors don't realize (and the latter certainly do not care about) is that a single bad encounter can have a seriously outsized impact.

You don't see any harassment to women because you are a man and are speaking of your OWN experience. Every single woman that I personally know within my fitness circle and outside of it has experienced harassment or otherwise unwanted attention at some point in the gym. There is a reason why women's only gyms are so popular.
Also, very muscular women/women bodybuilders might not want to be gawked at all the time when they're working out. That is far less likely to happen if they train at a gym that is geared towards and has a customer base that is predominantly geared towards bodybuilders. It also fosters a sense of community.
It's very rare to find fbbs in the gym.
Sometimes they go to other gyms not the typical bodybuilder gym.
Might be easier to just pick a body you want to own on Instagram.
Then casually present yourself in that gym and reclaim what is yours.
Do a bit of stalking, find out at what time she trains, etc.
BUT TO BE HONEST MANY OF THEM ARE KINDA CRAZY.
LIKE THE REGULAR BLOKE WILL GO TO THE SAME GYM FOR 20 YEARS AT THE SAME EXACT TIME ALWAYS LIKE A LIFELESS MACHINE.
THE FBB SHE WILL GO TO 6 DIFFERENT GYMS ALWAYS AT DIFFERENT TIMES, LEAVE TOWN EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS....THEIR LIVES ARE VERY CHAOTIC.

Oh no no no no no, you are not a funny little loser anymore... Direct instruction to stalk and harass? Permaban, IP scan, police. Please, anyone with such capacity

so when little 15 year old horace mason from connecticut likes a little girl and finds out where she goes and what she likes that's cute and is called love.
yet if I do something similar on internet I am a STALKER AND HARASSER.
WHAT A STUPID WORLD WE ARE ALL LIVING IN.
