I want to believe that tonight (or today, depending on where you live) they won't use this as an excuse to delay the release. In any case, there's no way in hell I'm paying for Netflix just to watch a trailer or pre-ordering the game

From what I've read, Sony may delay the end of physical media.
I really hope so, because selling a console with a disc drive and stop producing physical games during its lifetime, it's scammy to say the least.

EXACTLY! At this point I see absolutely no reason to move up to PS6 as early as 2027. Especially with the chip shortage. And with how much the PS6 will undoubtedly cost, a fucking desktop PC will be cheaper.

And given the compatibility issues with PC's -- I could be reaching the end of my gaming hobby (once I've worked my way through my backlog of games I bought on sale, that is!)
I saw this coming in the ps3 era they dont give a fuck about us. I play on pc because if they discontinue a game its easier to get some fan made fixed version. but i do miss the convenience of just buying games in the shop. my bank keeps freaking out when I buy stuff they think steam stole my credit card.

Finished Stellar Blade. Fun, action game, doesn't have stamina bar like all other soulslikes, which makes it a lot better. Also playing Marvel Tokon, having tons of fun, anyone tried it?
As I understand it, Sony will STILL be able to prevent you from playing it after you download it. If you piss off the wrong people at Sony (the moderators), they'll be able to confiscate your "cartridge" and no refund for you!
