Anyone interested in bodybuilding history?

I've lately found my main interest is studying the history of bodybuilding, both men and women (but of course especially women) and I'm curious if there are other people interested in this. If so send me a message.

I've been trying to learn more about the history of female bodybuilding but I haven't found any good documentaries

Pumping Iron 2 is pretty good, but not as good as the original in my opinion. It’s quite sensationalized and reality TV-ified though. It’s also from the very beginning of FBB so doesn’t cover a lot.

Do you know where I can find Pumping Iron 2? I've been looking everywhere so I can watch it.

Why does the discussion have to be by message?

I'd love to discuss how Arnold's techniques seemed so ahead of his time, but I'd love an answer to the above first. :)

It doesn’t have to be through DM. I just didn’t know if having a big primarily text-based thread here was allowed.

Re: Arnold. I’m not sure Arnold’s techniques were that different to the rest of the Gold’s crew but I think he was ahead of his time when it came to posing and presentation.

I'm something of an amateur scientist myself when it comes to bodybuilding, and his pec development technique - which I've only 'hacked' in the last couple of years - was at least 4 decades ahead of mainstream. In his diet he had enormous quantities of natural Leucine, whose importance in hypertrophy has only recently come to the fore. He was working muscles like the Serratus Anterior that most BB'ers (of either gender) even today often overlook.

Interesting. I believe the pec technique but I chalked a lot of Arnold’s development there up to genetic aptitude. It was clearly his standout feature though.
