I may be ignorantly missing something, but don't 'obliques', 'adonis belt' and 'v-line' essentially describe the same attribute?

Ditto 'holding boobs' and -- my preference because more elegant -- 'handbra'.

I had to look it up, but the adonis belt is apparently the inguinal ligaments and not the oblique muscle itself. It's a body fat percentage thing and not necessarily muscle mass.

As an example, here's a pic where the obliques are visible but the adonis belt isn't:

maybe it would make sense to have some kind of broader tag such as "traditional clothing/dress" that would be a catch-all for anything without a distinct classification that is traditional dress. for example, regardless of the specific cultural origin, most everything in these threads would probably fall under that new "traditional clothing/dress" tag: https://www.girlswithmuscle.com/forum/thread/... https://www.girlswithmuscle.com/forum/thread/... . just brainstorming here, what do you think?

hey, any thoughts or updates on adding a "traditional clothing/dress" tag?

hi is this new tag just not happening? lol. zero problem if it's not just had been wondering. 😇

So, the question persists: where is the "Adonis belt" tag? Why is not available anymore?

'pec flex' and 'pec flex/bouncing'

'glutes flex' and 'glutes bouncing/flexing'

^ I'd add the silly "pecs flex through clothes" to the above consolidation. There is absolutely no need. Users are clearly stupid, or just so hellbent on tagging that they ignore what exists already in the name of being hyper specific and getting off.

I can't wait until the tagging system becomes more structured. Is that still planned? I seem to remember discussion of "parent" tags like biceps, calves for example, then "child" tags within those for specific types like flexing, control, veins, etc etc.

I think "scissors" and "legs scissors" are unnecessary since there's bodyscissors, headscissors, pillow headscissors and fruit crush or watermelon.

Chainer recently said that he's working on a tag hierarchy system, I imagine that it will be a big improvement over the current one.

Guys, why the "Adonis belt" tag don't exist anymore??

Nov 10, 2025 - permalink

Not quite a merge, but I don’t think people hyphenate “south asian”

From what I see, it was merged into "obliques".

Is there a procedure to get it back?

Not a tag merge but can I suggest a tag for women with extremely low bodyfat?

Yes but we dont have the % mentioned

Yes but we dont have the % mentioned

That wouldn't be correctly known and pointless to guess. Even self stated percentages would be questionable.

So... this is a problem. "Obliques" definitely isn't the same as Adonis/Apollo belt. It's a rare condition, especially for women.

One perfect example: Lee Keyrouz.

Besides this, it's something, somehow, mitical, "artistic" way for the anatomical physique, like the Greek sculptures.

The "obliques" are visible in almost every fit girl. But this anatomical, symmetrical "V" with abs and obliques combined aren't usual. Can you mods reconsider the original tag? I know many users aren't using correctly, but I and many other users can contribute correcting the misusing of the tag.

Yeah I am working on it. It's taking a while though, because even though it's a pretty simple concept (if a tag is a subset/child of another, when you search for the parent tag, also return all instances of the child one) it has a lot of complications and edge cases, such as:

  • How it interacts with tags getting merged and deleted
  • Preventing cycles from being created (so that you can't start at a tag, traverse through its children, and end up back at the same tag)
  • Improving the (mod-only) UI for merging tags to also include adding children and parents
  • dealing with redundant connections (for example, if Japanese is a child tag of East Asian which is a child of Asian, what happens if Japanese is made a direct child of Asian also?)
  • Keeping the tag hierarchy for model tags separate from regular tags

etc. Additionally due to other commitments I've only been able to get in one good day of work (4-8 hours) on it per week for the past few weeks.

In any case I do hope to have it done by end of year.

In the above example, I think "leg scissors", "bodyscissors", "headscissors" would be children of "scissors" and "pillow headscissors" would be a child of "headscissors". (Even so, that's a lot of scissors, do people really care about these?) "watermelon crush" would be a child of "fruit crush".

Given how badly people get non vague tags wrong, tags like this are going to be wrong a large percentage of the time and what’s the metric for being wrong? I’m already not a fan of “tall”, since that is highly subjective, unless we say “taller than 2m”, for example.

Yes I would agree. Surely some care I certainly do haha. I guess that also shows another factor, right now anyone can seemingly create a new tag at will so we get lots of nonsense or duplicate tags, any plans on limiting that or reviewing tags before they are accepted?

Fitting example I forgot to mention is theres a second "striated delts" tag which should be merged into the original one.

Nothing about this? The mods really accept "obliques" for the "Adonis belt" tag?

No, I don't consider it a problem to have some nonsense tags with just a few images tagged with it. I don't want to burden the staff with having to review each new tag.

If a tag starts to get a significant amount of use, it will come to our attention then.

Definitely not!! Every fit woman has obliques, but not every fit woman has Adonis belt. I can understand how the mods simply deleted this tag.
