This is weird but not the worst. I guess it depends on the country. some countries are forcing mainstream platforms to require personal information to make sure you are over 18. it's really dumb I know Instagram wanted my ID after they banned another account of mine that didn't even interact with anyone. but I didn't give them anything. I had a similar problem with my YouTube account but they just gave up and stopped asking after a few months. but it's a really bad sign for the future of the internet they say it's to protect the. kids but if parents let their kids install only fans the parents are the real problem here. I think they just want to sell your data. or even use it as blackmail in the future. and you somehow become a rich or important person
Some US states have some brand new laws requiring age verification before accessing adult content. All are being contested, some are being struck down.

The cheat is to access through a VPN similar to how you'd access a website from a "banned" country.
Btw Patreon asked me for age verification as a creator which was wild so k think there’s some crackdowns happening
That's because by using their service platform as an income source, you need to be legally able to sign a contract - hence the requirement to prove that you're of legal age of majority (or an emancipated minor). Depending on their structure (and your place of residence) they also may (or may not) issue you a 1099 tax form.

This was different. I had been on the platform for 7 years before they asked the same thing they asked tre, to take a photo for he verification, despite the fact that I’ve been on the platform for 7 years and you need to be 18 to have something like a debit card. In the end k had to do it because I wanted my money but this seems weirder
It came out of nowhere. I've subbed to a few dozen accounts the past couple of years and never encountered this before. Thankfully I still have access to the OF accounts I already belong to, but if it continues, this would be a barrier to me joining any other. I cannot defeat the matrix, but damned if I'll just submit without a fight.

Again...
Not saying this is "the" reason but it makes sense that it's "a" reason.
Back in Denmark, opened on new computer, same shit. This bloody sucks. I understand all businesses have compliance requirements that aren't governed by "how do our customers feel about it?", but the original verification process was extensive and met the legal standard, a standard which has not changed. This follow-up check is merely performative and serves no actual utility. 👎🏽
So, now the only way to join Onlyfans even if the page is free is to take a picture of your face and send it to them?
My account have 2 or 3 year old and I ceveived that notification, I don't want to send my face even if is secure like they said. I can't talk to models now because of this bs
I would delete my account before sending a photo of myself to a site... I am sorry, way too many ways it gets used unauthjorized.
I've been reading some reddit post and many people have this problem. Onlyfans want ask for a selfie of yourself to see if you are an adult or not. Im not gonna send my face to a porn site, and now I can't talk anymore to the only model I found that use OF in a right way. I can't comunicate with her. Also I discover that many girls don't know about this problem, or they basically don't care. Using vpn also don't work, most of the states and country have this problem
Update:
Previously mentioned the new computer and I went into OnlyFans via my VPN to set up a new OF account after returning to Denmark, thinking that France was the problem. Everything worked as it always had, no age check necessary.
So, natural next move was to try new OF account on main laptop still via VPN, and it worked flawlessly. I then restarted, logged on via main internet, and the new OF account worked fine on both machines.
I arrived back in the U.S. for a short visit last night, so first thing I did was try to get back into the original OF account and buy content. Main laptop, no luck. New laptop, no luck. So, then tried the USA-only machine, same result.
Conclusion - the original OF account is burned. I can still access what I previously paid for and the rebill subscriptions still hit, but I cannot buy anything new. Sucks, but I'm ok with have 2 accounts for now and will eventually migrate those subs over.
Further development on the original account:
They canceled all my paid subs at their December rebill dates (unfortunately, I was only paying month-to-month). That means I've also lost access to $$ add-on content on those accounts. Additionally, on the Free subs, my access was shut off to a lot of the paid content, though it seems I can still see the older videos.
I've never ripped content from OnlyFans for obvious reasons, but seems like I've been burned as a result. Although most of my buys are in the $5-10 range, I have paid as much as $20-40 for some videos on a few different pages.
Is anyone else being asked to use their mobile for age verification when subscribing to an OnlyFans account? I never encountered it before today.
