Who is your pick to win Ms. Olympia 2023? (312 total votes)
I guess for the sake of this thread, just vote on who you think will win. And in the comments you can write whether you think she will win because she absolutely deserves to, or if someone else is bringing a better package and is just going to get snubbed over backstage politics. The IFBB judges aren't usually praised for being 100% unbiased.
Andrea Shaw will win. I don’t see anyone else dethroning the overall package she brings right now. Honestly I really do not see anyone else that even makes you take a second to have to think it over. There’s no Kim Chizevsky to her Lenda Murray. When Kim was on the come up you knew she was gonna be a problem because she did nothing but collect wins and get better and better with each show.
In the spirit of competition I would like it if she got beat. I’ve never been the biggest of fan of the Olympia winner being the same year after year. The physique division has definitely benefited from it as the Nat/Sarah face-off definitely helps spark some curiosity.
I'm going to play devil's advocate here.
Can you be 100% sure that Andrea will win? It's probably the safe bet, however every champ can have a bad year. Many of these contenders could be coming in this year with a serious drive to win, and this could be the year that one of them brings a winning package and begins a new several-year reign.

I'm gonna tbrow in the conspiracy theory angle..... By all metrics and what we have seen Andrea is untouchable, but I have been seeing a narrative being pushed as Kovaleva is the "chosen one". Her close association with Jake Woods doesn't help either.... but in terms of pure cold logic, Andrea. That's who I voted without hesitation

Nobody can say it's 100% guaranteed. But I've never heard any talk about Andrea showing up to a contest not at her best. If anything I would've assumed 2022 would have been a problem year because that was her trying to make adjustments to her prep after she was given the advice to downsize a little since they(whoever the hell they are) thought she was getting too big the year prior. Happened to Sarah Villegas. Following someone's advice she changed some things in her prep to adjust her look slightly and she blames it for why she came in 2nd to Natalia. But it didn't affect Andrea at all. She still came in the clear winner without any doubt. Until I see Andrea's physique start to falter she will always be the winner. Even if someone were to bring a physique on par with hers it will go down to who the judges think will be the best face for the sport. Andrea's rep seems to be as pristine as it gets and she's got the 1000 watt smile that lights up a room to go with it.
Kristina Mendoza is the only one I could see THE LEAGUE allowing to dethrone Andrea right now. But even with the improvements she's made to her physique she still can't touch Andrea. Not yet anyway.

Nothing is ever an absolute guarantee, but usually if a competitor is having a bad prep you can tell in their training posts, but nothing in Andrea's prep shows her struggling with anything nor does anything about her physique look off. She looks incredible.
And honestly, at that level of competition, EVERYONE goes into it with a serious drive to win. You don't get to be on the Olympia stage unless you have that drive.
Andrea is just so far ahead of everyone else to begin with, even with a bad prep I'd bet on her.
Can Michaele make #4 or even crack the Top 3? It is very hard to predict. I'm pulling for Michaela to place 3rd or 4th but it's only a hope.
I'm no judging expert but I think her symmetry will always hold her back.
Michaela has had massive improvement in her quads. I think her conditioning boned her in her first show this year and she cleaned it up in her second show. In terms of mass she's gotta be the p4p most muscular on that frame. She has 17" arms easy, which is the same as Shaw. Dunno if her back will downplace her but the top 3 last year had better symettry.
I jus bought a vid from Yeo and around the same conditioning last year she looks much denser and larger overall. I hope she can bring that fullness to the stage along with conditoining.
Poeple are high on natalia but i don't see it. I personally think Julia has the best rookie showing. Kristina dev looks better than her last appearance but i think will have to really dial in the conditioning even more. i saw on the FBBC youtube that she had started dieting since JANUARY in prep for her qualifier show, that's a long ramp up, and it paid off for that but now she's gotta do it again.
WOS should be interesting to see where people are at. i wonder if anyone got any notes like Shaw did last year to come in a bit softer than the year previous
Yup she looks too odd, too small. Just not aesthetically pleasing at all. Just sayin'
She has awful genetics compared to everybody she's competing against. Full credit to her for overcoming that to the extent that she has, but her ceiling isn't just glass, it's bulletproof.
I voted for Michaela Aycock coz she's my favourite BB. I do think, however, that Andrea will win again with the possibility of being dethroned by Angela. I think Michaela's not perfect physique works for me. I'd love to see her win. When Michaela and Branka Njegovec (one of my all-time faves) battled for fifth place last year, I found myself rooting for Michaela. Was actually disappointed for her. She is now my current number one.
It's tough condensing this list to just 10 choices (this site's limit on polls). There are 12 (at the time of this post) who have qualified, so I'm leaving out 2 names. That list can be found here:

I decided to keep all of those who didn't compete last year on the list as they are somewhat wildcards and I'm interested in what everyone thinks about them. Otherwise, the 2 I knocked off the list finished the lowest in last year's Olympia, the results of which can be found here:

In the comments you guys can write what you think their strengths and weaknesses are, or if you think one of the two names I left out is your pick to win.
