Frequently asked questions:

Are there any plans to have video clips on the site?
No. This is mostly a bandwidth issue, since the site's bandwidth bills would skyrocket if videos were added. If you head over to the forums, though, sometimes people post links to youtube videos.

Someone posted a picture of me on the site without my permission and I want it removed. What should I do?

I uploaded a picture but it didn't appear on the site. Why?
All pictures that are uploaded need to either be approved in a voting process by the site members, or by the site staff (depending on which option you chose when uploading your pictures). The pictures that are approved typically take a few days to appear on the site.

Can I have a reason for why the pictures I uploaded were rejected from the site?
Unfortunately, in most cases it is not feasible to give a reason for why a particular image was rejected. In the case that you chose for the image to get approved by a vote by the site's members when uploading, the reason is simply that the picture didn't get enough votes of approval to make it on the site. As for staff members rejecting pictures, we simply have too many to go through and not enough time to be able to give a good reason for each one. Sorry! If you do want to try your chances, though, there is a thread in the forums where you can ask for a reason.

A picture I liked or uploaded was deleted without warning. Why?
There could be several reasons for this. The most likely reason was that a member of the site staff thought it was in violation of one of the upload rules and deleted it. Or, equally likely, the picture was found to be a duplicate of another picture on the site and the two pictures were merged (see below). Another possible, though less likely, reason might be that the person in the picture contacted us to have the picture removed. If you want to be absolutely certain that you won't lose a particular picture, you should probably save it to your computer.

Why was my poll rejected?
Most likely it's been asked many times before. That, or it was inane/pointless.

Aren't duplicate images (pairs of images that are the same) a problem?
Well, yes. It is inevitable that people will, eventually, upload copies of the same image. You can help by reporting them to the site staff (see below). If we find a pair of duplicates, we merge them, meaning that the larger picture of the two is kept, and the smaller one is deleted. All comments and ratings from both pictures are retained under the larger picture.

What should I do if I see a pair of two pictures that are the same (i.e., duplicates of each other)?
You should report one of them to the site staff (using the red "Report this Image" button below each image). In your report, PLEASE make sure you include the URL of the other image, or else your report will most likely be ignored since we won't bother to hunt down the duplicate.

I'm registered on the main site. Do I have to register on the forums separately?
Yes. The forum uses a separate system from the main site, and as such, there is no "link" between the accounts on the forums and those on the main site.

What kind of software does this site use? Who wrote it?
