There are lots of muscular women out there, but monetizing one's muscle is not nearly as easy as some folks think.
In this episode of Fika Unfiltered, we sit down with Swedish fitness entrepreneur and creator Melinda Lindmark for a conversation that goes far beyond training and social media. Melinda started lifting at just 14 years old, entered bodybuilding as a teenager, and eventually built an audience of more than 1.2 million people. But behind the strength, success, and confidence people see online was a much more complicated journey involving extreme dieting, an eating disorder, insecurity, people pleasing, and learning how to trust herself and others.
We talk about what it’s like to be a muscular woman in Scandinavia, Jantelagen and the pressure not to stand out, why successful people can still feel deeply insecure, and how fear of judgment can make you shrink even when you know you’re meant for more.
The conversation also gets very personal as we talk about relationships, trust, infidelity, childhood wounds, inner-child healing, therapy, conflict, and what it actually takes to feel safe enough to be vulnerable with another person.
Melinda also shares what she’s building next, including her vision of opening her own gym and creating a community where like-minded people can connect.
