They're big mad at Sydney Sweeney. Again.

My only way to make the hypocrisy make sense is that sydney sweeney going against the grain reduces the collective bargaining power, similarly to scabs during work strikes.

This is perfectly put. Social movements pretty much operate like unions. Or at least try to.

The issue is that Sweeney is precieved (baselessly AFAIK) as right wing, is white, conventionally attractive and female. Regardless of your opinions on politics the truth is that this is a politically motivated hatchet job.

I don't think her political leanings have anything to do with it. I'm not sure that she's ever been political.

What I do know is women are naturally jealous of other women who are objectively more desired by societal standards than they are. Some women are able to control and even ignore this jealous tendency, others become unhinged and can't help themselves. Arguments are easily crafted around this in order to make it seem like their outrage has moral footing to stand on, but at the end of the day it's just social media slop that gets passed around... some people benefit, others benefit more, a few more followers are earned, and the cycle continues on.

The issue many have with her is that she isn't political. There's a lot of handwringing in feminist circles over the fact that she hasn't explicitly signaled herself to be on the "right side of history" regarding MAGA, race, etc. I first heard it bought up over her conservative family that she never publicly disavowed. Then there was the jeans ad and the GQ interview. She clearly doesn't buy into modern liberal social politics in the same way a barista from portland would (or at least she doesn't want to toe the party line that's so dominant culturally right now...), but I don't think she's some super cerebral political contrarian either.
