You can thank tiktok for that. Every single weird remixed, re-pitched or whatever type of unholy song you hear, has a trend assigned to it that went viral on tiktok at some point.
Both IG and Tiktok offer the option to easily add music to your video within the app. The catch is that you have to use their audio library with preapproved music with no copyright issues.
It is what it is, you get to have free music but don't expect anything more than mass produced electronic mixes.
Yea i Don't get why people like this stuff. if I was a dictator i would ban that style of music .sometimes it seems like she is talking or it's a feat of strength video and can have cool sounds but when i unmute it's just dubstep shit.
and its not even new this crap got popular in the 2000s. some people on youtube even take very old videos and replace the music with this.
I agree that most current popular music sucks. I’m not sure why. Maybe the overall modern music industry has a lower IQ. The smart GenZ and millennials I work with often listen to the music I grew up with and still prefer. When I was younger and before I got married, musical taste was a strong determinant of compatibility with friends and dates. Even if they are beautiful, a woman’s musical taste on a posted video could be a big turnoff for me.
When you post on tiktok or Instagram, you can add music from their database. Using a song that's been popular in the algorithm gets you more reach. Music labels push songs that will get a hook in under 15 seconds to fit in said videos. It's a money circle that often pushes away music that doesn't fit those criteria. Chicken and the egg problem. You most likely found these women because they put themselves out there, not because you know them personally, so you could say the technique works. Welcome to the late stage capitalism hellscape. Good music is still being made but you have to put an ounce of effort to look for it
It’s why I’ll always appreciate Franciely Kawashima. Sometimes she’ll use the generic popular stuff, but usually she goes with songs that are definitely her personal taste like Linkin Park, AC/DC, etc… It’s made me adore her even more that I share some of the same music taste.
They always play corny phonk music it genuinely feels like my ears are getting raped when I hear it.
I'm talking mostly on Instagram but you find it on Tiktok as well. You see a pretty, muscular girl lifting or posing and think "Cool, I want to unmute this." Then you instantly get an earful of harsh EDM or hard rap or a normal song pitched so low in base it's become crunchy.
Why is that the default for EVERY muscle/fitness girl video? Is that what the girl listens to while working out? Why do I have to listen to it? She's a beautiful woman and the music is not even intelligible.
(And yes, I know I can mute it. I usually keep my phone's speaker muted anyway. But every so often I get curious to see what a woman picks and it almost always bursts my eardrums).
