Misnamed Models

This thread is for reporting suspected misnamed models.

I cautiously removed the "Sheena Bocciolone" name tag from this one. Since models can legitimately have identical names, I'm posting about it here to help verify it if I'm wrong.

However:

• "Sheena Bocciolone" is a very distinctive and unique name.
• The picture isn't of the known Sheena Bocciolone.
• She's much younger and doesn't have Sheena's large breasts.
• There's only the one picture.
• No reverse image results for Google Lens or Yandex Image search.
• Since she's much younger, she would probably have a social media handle that could be added to separate her images from the original.

I think this should require evidence that the model is really named Sheena Bocciolone.

I noticed a pic of Erin Thompson and it surprised me how few pics of her there were on this site, and also the number of subs extremily low (15). She is on the site however: Erin Thomson, which is, as far I can tell, the correct spelling (without p)

There are even two pics of her marked with both names. I am not sure if a simple "edit name" would do the trick here?

Yeah, that is what you should do in these cases ("edit name"). In this case it's already been changed.

@phenoms: In a case like that you can just blank the name, and ideally leave a short comment under the pic explaining why. I don't think it needs a thread in the forums really.

This was going to be my guess.

There’s not really a widespread deliberate misnaming of models.

A lot of names are super hard to spell right.

It's resolved now. I did a name edit to add her social media.

The names of Chinese fbb's is especially tricky since they often don't just use their real names on social media. They often add descriptions, use nicknames. Misnaming is much more prevalent, but certainly not deliberate.

The main point being: it can sometimes be a puzzle to find the correct name. And there are definitely cases were one is unsure, but with help of the community we can solve it. There are cases where I am not sure enough to make the change, and also there can def can get situations where discussions arise (like always, lol).

Eg.yesterday I asked the following question on the forum, in the East Asian muscle women thread (and below the picture I uploaded):

About: Cài Xīnmǐn Choi (choifit) (590573865) (xīnmǐn_choi)

Her rednote account just mentions the name 蔡心 Cài Xīn. Maybe this is a shortening of Cài Xīnmǐn. And I am guessing Choi is just a different romanization of her family name. Anyone more info about this (for the sake of correct naming)?

Currently the names of Chinese fbb's on the site is a bit of a mess:

• the unwritten rule seems to be to use pinyin romanization instead of actual characters. (Note: instead of pinyin another romanization is probably preferrable in case of Taiwanese fbb's, or Cantonese speaking fbb's) When new functionality comes available, like a mini bio (diff thread about that), it would be very handy to add the Chinese names, because some of the women cannot be found on the internet or social media without it.

• use of tone mark diacritics or not: I prefer to include them, but I have read other opinions

• Chinese name order (family name, personal name) vs Western order (personal name, family name): both are used on this website. Which can lead to confusions.

Her rednote is 易繁君 which is romanized as Yì Fánjūn. That is to say, Yì is the family name, Fánjūn is the personal name. The name on this site has used Jūn as family name and an onorthodox romanization Evaine. But this is typically a situation where I would like to propose/discuss the new name (and where this naming comes from), and not just enforce my edit directly.

I have removed the tone marks from Wái Chūn Virginia Kwok (Now it is Wai Chun Virgina Kwok).

It seems the tone marks were added in a way that one would do in Mandarin. However this is a Cantonese name (words/names Kwok don't exist in mandarin, with a -k ending).

Cantonese can be romanized with Jyutping romanization. I think they sometimes use numbers behind the syllables to indicate tones, but it seems standard to not have tone marks in the romanization.

Kwok is the family name. Wai Chun the personal name. So Chinese order would be Kwok Wai Chun. She is often called Chunchun. Virginia is her English name. But also because of the British past of Hong Kong the western order is much more prevalent in administration. With that in mind I haven't changed the order, and left it at Wai Chun Virginia Kwok (on Insta she calls herself Virginia Kwok).

Maybe someone who knows Cantonese specifically could confirm and suggest how to deal with this.
