When this post is about 12 hours old there will be planned downtime

(Start time not exact; Once it is done I will move this out of Announcements so if it is still here, it is not yet done)

I am moving the site to another server. I am hoping this will alleviate some of the flakiness and slowness that has been going on recently. It will also get us some much-needed additional hard drive space.

Hopefully the outage will be less than one hour.

For some time you may get a "This connection is not secure" error in your browser when getting on the site.

I expect emails to reset your password won't work for a day or two after this.

Will you / did you keep the original architecture on a beefier unified server, or did you choose to migrate to a more modern cloud configuration such as the IaaS in the cloud suggested by silentcrs here?

Yes

did you choose to migrate to a more modern cloud configuration such as the IaaS in the cloud suggested by silentcrs here?

Everything I read about this suggested it is both a large infrastructure change, and significantly more expensive.

Good luck with the migration. Hopefully everything goes smoothly.

The page loads way, way faster now. Good work.

This is done now, but there's probably still bugs to be found.

I’m not sure if this is a result of the move or not, or if anyone is experiencing this, but sometimes I’m being logged out after a few minutes, sometimes as I’ve been going through the site, sometimes after a few minutes of inactivity. I haven’t been able to see any pattern, but thought I’d just bring it up

That's strange. I haven't had that happen.

Note that when the move happened you did probably have to log in again on every single separate device you've used GWM on. It's also normal to get logged out after two weeks in general.

I haven’t experienced that in the past either. I hadn’t logged in to the site in a few weeks so I don’t think that was an issue. I usually will log myself out after I’m done as well.

Well this explains some of it then; you can stay logged in for only 2 weeks at a time, so if you are off the site for more time than that then when you come back you will be logged out on every single device.

My "New finds" stopped working. Now it just lists the most recent new finds instead of displaying only the 6 from me.

It’s not that it’s stopped working, it’s that the new finds page for users redirects to the main “New Finds” page of the site.

<sarcasm> Yes, of course... that's why the url link includes my username as a search parameter, so it can provide a generic result. </sarcasm>

My "[New finds](https://www.girlswithmuscle.com/images/modellist/?user=phenoms)" stopped working.

I click, everyday, in my "new finds" section to upload more photos of the girls I found, but today I'm the page is taking me to all the other models on the site. It's a bug?

Yes.

Yeah, this was unrelated to the server move. https://www.girlswithmuscle.com/forum/thread/...
