Shopping addiction and buyer's remorse

Mar 24, 2026 - edited Mar 27, 2026 - permalink

Compulsive buying disorder (CBD) or whatever you wanna call it.

Have you ever been a shopaholic?

Perhaps you're dealing with it right now.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

I have deal this in the past. Was pretty obsessed with fashion 10+ years ago. Realized with time that it's not important!

Buying online doesn't work for me.

I don't get the same satisfaction.

Maybe I'm the only one in the entire world.

Not really. the only time i had this issue was when i was a teenager and i would buy any video game that was cheap since it used to be rare. but it stopped being rare so i wasted all my money on shovelware. but now i am very frugal and avoid spending money on anything. sometimes i go too far and keep using broken obsolete stuff and i Pirate all my media

This thread might have more engagement if you're allowing those without an actual disorder to respond. The way it's written, it looks as though you're only interested in hearing from those with CBD.

It's implied, but maybe I expressed myself poorly.

Everyone is welcome, with or without CBD.

For instance, I had CBD in the past to heal my depression (this works temporarily), but sometimes I fall for it again, and regret this immediately.

I'm not rich, so this took a toll on me.

Splurging on stupid things is dumb, if you can't afford it.

I also made a lot of bad choices, like spendind new fridge money on a PS5 for Christmas.
