"adult performer" tag

Jan 16, 2026 - edited Jan 16, 2026 - permalink

Should its usage be limited to models who are publicly "known" in the adult space? I can imagine a scenario where that guy uses it to renew his anti-GWM campaign.

We have one user who is being overzealous with this tag and myself I'm uncomfortable with some of the women who are being tagged with "adult performer". Originally it was "pornstar", but this had its own labelling issues.

If a woman appears on OnlyFans or performing sexually oriented activity, then I would imagine that is fair game for the label, but not for simply appearing artistically nude or on a site where some other women are being more suggestive.

We will see how we can manage this.

I still think that the terminology is problematic and that we should consider using more neutral terminology like "professional processor of oversized schlongs in return for monetary compensation" which I am given to understand is the preferred nomenclature amongst those working in the industry and in academia.

I think this tag should be removed, if it continues to being misused, it might bring more blacklisting to the site.

Sounds good. It is the sort of tool crusaders use. As a fan of GWM, I'd rather lose one throwaway tag than to lose models who'd rather not be labeled that way. It's not so much that they're ashamed of what they post online, but they often do care how it's framed, whether to themselves or to the people in their lives.

It’s been temporarily disabled until we can get a handle on things and work out what to do. The last thing we want is losing models due to mis-association.

I'm so grateful you removed this tag temporarily. Some idiot (or maybe a model?) was tagging several women who clearly NEVER had sex or erotic content. I've spent the last few days removing this tag from several models who clearly NEVER made that kind of content, and it was getting really tiring.
