Honestly I do wish this site was more strict with moderating the users, fetish site or not, it’s terrible to scare off women.
Edit: The blame isn’t on the mods, I also think it’s an issue of people not reporting disrespectful users.
Please do report problem comments, posts and images. Just don’t try leading on a problem actors, since this just makes it hard to work out the problem party and could backfire.
Just note as mods we are all volunteers and do this between everything else in our lives, so we depend on a collaborative and vigilant community to help make it feel safer for everyone. Whether you consider this site a kink or a meeting of like minded people, doesn’t remove the fact we all need to help create a great, safe and respectful environment.
I think it was said: don’t say anything in comments, or do anything, that you wouldn’t with your mother, sister or other family member.
> I don’t know that GWM has any more sickos than any other site that has pictures of women. Like I’m sure the women on Onlyfans who are just plain run of the mill porn stars get their fair share of sickos. It’s a mix here. Some people are overwhelmed by what they see and say idgaf I’m going to DM this girl and see how she responds. 😩😩. The way I see it the sickos are guilty of having zero game. No ability to talk to women and no tact. Annoying yes. Scary is a bit of a stretch. Like you could just block them.
A comment like this really downplays the concern that women have for their safety along with giving more "grace" to those creepers than they deserve. Yeah, it's one thing to say something creepy and cringey, but there are guys out there who, in response to her socials going dark, where you can reasonably conclude that that means someone wants to be left alone, decided to find her sister to foist their fetishes on them. This is also a bodybuilder who now feels worried that she got tagged at the gym she trains at because now she is worried that some doofer is going to try and find her in person. And unfortunately, there are dudes out there who cannot take no for an answer and are capable of reacting in dangerous ways.
Brandi Akers dealt with someone coming to her house. Michelle Gavin I think dealt with someone showing up either at her work or the gym she trained at. Michaela Aycock delt with a creeper at the Olympia trying to get into the same hotel elevator as her without a room key (literally waiting for her at the elevators). Ashley Svendbye dealt with a stalker for months near her apartment. Granted, yes, I am sure there are weirdos who are actually harmless and would never do the above, but you just don't know, and when someone breaks clearly built boundaries like that, it's not hard to feel scared by it.
Settle down. I speak from experience. My girlfriend handles it by very directly messaging a person that they’ve crossed a line and it’s not appreciated. Otherwise thanks for the support, but here’s where I draw the line. It’s not as dramatic as all that. But then again she’s a grown woman. Don’t try to use me as an example I’m good.
this thread reminds me of a meme I saw, but find unable to upload here:
It goes, "Once you've talked to women you'll never stop wanting to beat all men to death with your bare hands." -ANTHONY BOURDAIN
Honestly, us users have got to hold ourselves to a collective higher standard.

Once you've talked to a Lesbian you realise it's not just the men. Not by a long way. My ex was bisexual, some of the things she shared that women had said and done to her made even me, a red blooded straight guy, come over all prudish. I agree that we should hold ourselves to a higher standard but moreso in the macro sense of as a species.
Could well be a good number. I suspect some of the story authors are at least over at Saradas.

when women who post both on here and instagram are begging chainer to pull their images down because of harassment but continue to post up on instagram that's a clear indication that the problem is moderation, and while I wouldn't blame individual mods it's up to all of us to do something about it the biggest load being on the sites owner.
Respect is expected here since the world of female body building advertises "female empowerment" but very little of that is shown or given, like you said when we the real fans pretend the disrespect isn't here for what ever reason (usually to avoid conflict) that just fuels the issue.
So first off I think this is an 80/20 issue, or more like 99/1, where 1% of the site users account for 99% of the problematic behavior. This sort of ratio applies to problem behavior here on the site itself so I don't see why it wouldn't be the case off the site too. The issue is that the site gets thousands of visitors, so even 1% of that could be in the dozens to hundreds.
Second, it's odd to me that people bring up moderation here when in this particular case, the issue happened completely off the site, namely, in her social media DMs. We could moderate here all we want but this does not affect people who are doing stuff completely outside the site.
Third, we do more moderation than you are probably aware of. You are not notified when we ban a random user, or when an image comment is completely hidden from you such that you never knew it was made, and yet both of these happen frequently.
Fourth, with moderation there is a balance to be struck. It is a fact that many users of the site want to talk about topics that some women find objectifying. The former are my userbase, the latter are not. I will happily moderate away (to the best of our ability) the X% most extreme/outlandish/gross etc. content but I'm not going to alienate the average user. If the occasional removal request is the price to pay for that, so be it.
This site has some checkmark verified GWMs. What if we gave users the option to turn off Direct Messages completely. I even got some weird crap years ago from someone who wanted to roleplay via the chat, and I'm just a random guy.
There's no reason GWMs shouldn't use this site to grow their audience. If they could turn DMs off, at least the creepy comments will have to be in the open, in full view of mods, in the image comments or the forum, for everyone to see. That by itself could stop some of the worst stuff. I've never seen a dick pic in the forums, for example.
Just jerk it and give the photo a like. Leave a comment here where only the other inmates can see it if you must. I can assure you they don’t want to hear from your loser ass.
Top notch advice. Hard to imagine a more succinct guide to successful use of the Internet.
Should possibly be pinned to the front-page of GWM for everyone to re-read on entry as a reminder before all the blood starts draining out of their brain and flowing Southward.
Make that man a life coach.

Thanks for all the work you do in keeping the site sane. I've always thought the little things make a big difference in terms of culture and nudging the needle in the right direction. Is there anything like a Community Standards for the site? I've only noticed the upload rules, but nothing about commenting. Even something very generic like anti-doxing, anti-bullying/harassment, etc. I understand that a billboard saying "don't rape" probably isn't going to stop rapists directly, but it's more of a broken window theory of law enforcement strategy that's been proven to work. It causes the marginally slightly offensive stuff to be much less frequent, so then the absolute degenerates that want to 1up the last guy in his rawness feel less welcome and participate less.
So I think a basic Community Standards section in the About page, a small note linking to the standards next to each comment box, or even a small gray message saying "be respectful, Girls with Muscle are real people" might make a difference. And yeah, I get that you have no control on what happens on other sites, but you don't have to be faster than the bear, just faster than your friend.
I presume some (not many)of the women check this site to see their content and how we react to their photos and videos. That’s why I only leave positive, not too sexual, comments to the ones I like and never a negative comment. Some of the content is very appealing to me, some most definitely is not.

I don't think it's the comments or the actions of moderators on here, it's the fact that this website leads to them getting unwanted attention on their social media accounts. They often have public social media pages to show empowerment, accomplishments, etc. The vast, vast majority of these women aren't looking to be sexualized or used as the object of a fetish and when they suddenly start getting dozens of friend requests from strange men who then send them private messages asking them sick questions like "can you crush me?" along with a picture of them naked. That creeps them out. There were nearly 9,400 active users yesterday and even if only 1% are creeps that's still almost 100 people.
People on here need to follow my golden rule. No friend requests, no messages, no likes, and no comments on their social media pages. Just look without ANY interaction.
While this could be done, just note this wouldn't stop problem actors looking at trying to communicate via other platforms.
Right, we can't be responsible for what happens on other platforms. Instagram has the option to not receive messages built in. I think giving the women that are here a tool for privacy would be a win for the site.

Again, that is a "throwing the baby out with the bathwater" over-corrective action. You absolutely can DM, and/or leave comments on the page of, bodybuilders and other athletes you are a fan of. I have given supportive messages and quite a bit and have had great conversations about training, nutrition and recovery, and have almost always had positive responses. Just don't act like a complete schmoe by wearing your fetish on your sleeve and talk to them like, well, a normal human being.
Hell, the last positive interaction I had was when I complimented a lifter on how good her front rack mobility was when she did front squats (along with how I was a little jealous because mine is not the best.) She even gave me pointers on drills I can do to help loosen my lats and triceps!
Mmmm if you spend enough time in the chat you’ll get to know that everybody here comes to j*erk off to some girls and are bery weird and childish.

This is the problem with modern society encapsulated with one comment. "Protect me from the bad thoughts" life is about getting gout of your comfort zone. If a comment offends or disgusts you, fair enough. Someone else might find it hilarious. Words are not violence and can never hurt you. Try shrugging it off and ignoring it on your own instead of invoking "mods" to censor everything. This is why the internet is lame for the most part now
Has a single crass comment ever caused more people to lose more of their shit in recorded history?
Like, I wouldn't have said it and I think it was a bad thing to say; but the weird sight of progressives still hyperventilating over a single offhand comment for this many years is just weird.
It was just one dumbass comment guys. You rant about it like he said the Pope was a lizardman.
they obsess over it because he said out loud what they think and forbid themselves to ever mention. it's bizarre. some kind of freudian thing repression or something
I don't think there are any moderation issues on this site. The issue is when dudes who have zero social skills on how to talk to women reach out to them on social media wearing their fetishes on their sleeve. Again, the lesson isn't "never message any muscular women ever or like her posts," but rather talk to her like an actual person. Unless you are physically incapable of not communicating with them without foisting your fetishes on them, in which case, you should probably take that advice lol
