I habitually delete the mature tag from any model under 40 years old because I’m convinced some of you don’t understand what it means.
Not trying to make you anymore self conscious than your introspection already makes you. Just being helpful in my own cerebral way.
You didn't make me feel self-conscious, or offended for that matter. I was just surprised to encounter discussion of this depth on a site like this. There's always more than meets the eye, but sometimes it comes at you from unexpected angles.

Yeah, I can understand your predicament. As I've touched upon, I do realise taking away the ability to remove tags would likely spawn new problems.
Does this sword cut both ways? I don't make an effort of editing tags but I do see a lot of tags that don't belong and have done about 10 corrections. Things like 8 pack when it is 6 or glutes when someone is standing full frontal and showing none.
Legsmasher, which would you consider worse? Tags that don't belong or tags that are missing?
In strong agreement with this sir here. There seems to be a lot of overtagging going on. Some people clearly spam tags where they do not belong at all. I wish there was some way for a regular user to access the tag's author, so that specific abusers could be reported for tagging too much or explicitly.
Overall the new tagging system is quite handy, and amazing. Lets not spoil it for everyone, please tag responsibly and when you are absolutely sure of correctness
The mods already have access to the change history of tags. No need to enable "tag wars" amongst users. Enforcement is the domain of the mods.
The over tagging of which you speak is a present-tense wrinkle -- meaning, as I've already explained, is smoothed out over time. It self corrects. Give it the opportunity to do so.

And you say that because there are hundreds of mods? Whats wrong with giving users a capability to see tag history? Are you one of the people overtagging or exploiting the tag system?
It doesn't "self-correct" at all. The issue has been growing if anything since the appearance of the new tag system, and its logical considering how the system works.

I gave you a calm, objective, and rational response to which you threw a paranoid accusatory temper tantrum. You didn't just prove my point about user tag wars, you put it over the top and you're already leading the charge against your perceived "enemies", evidence of wrongdoings be damned.
Also, your "NOW NOW NOW" attitude that self correction isn't working only demonstrated that you don't grasp the concept of delayed gratification. Or, wait no less than 2 years before your next response here to prove me wrong at which point you can show me all the tagging that wasn't fixed during the 2+ year interim.
None of us is perfect and we can all fall into traps of our own design.
Sometimes a little outside perspective and objectivity can help.
