Dubai

Why do some many FBBs migrate to Dubai for extended stays? Just a change of scenery? Networking with other FBBs? Rich sheiks? Steroids? It’s an odd trend.

I think dubai is a really weird trend people think if they go to dubai they get rich and ohh its so "safe" (if you dont express your thoughts) but they dont see or maybe even dont care about all the human rights violations that are happening in plain sight

Same as for all other social-media-influencers: taxes. And maybe the chance of working as a personal coach for some rich people.

For a while there was a gym in Thailand where a lot of hardcore bodybuilders were travelling to. You could hear them saying afterwards "Oh, I met so and so in Thailand .... what a coincidence". Not sure whether they took their stuff home with them, or simply stayed for a cycle.

Maybe there is such a place in Dubai these days.

This is the main reason, no taxes. So all that influencer money goes into your pickets.

it started with Larry Wheels. He moved and then he convinced a lot of fitness influencers to join him. Also the weather is a big plus in the winter, especially for European influencers. Some have moved fully like Vladi, and some like Melinda and Jessica make trips or stay there for the winter.

I think they might be monetizing their gains in many ways

But if you are, say, a U.S. Citizen, don't you still have to pay U.S. taxes even if you live overseas?

I see what you did there and yes, very true.

My impression is FATCA would apply to any US national working overseas (I'm not American - I am European - but heard US citizens saying that they still have to pay US tax while living abroad) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_Account...

Taxes have nothing to do with it. They're in Dubai for prostitution.

there’s a foreign earned income exemption that’ll reduce taxable income by x amount (something like 100k or so), so even despite living in a tax haven with no taxes they get a respite.

Americans and I think Spaniards are essentially the two nationalities most subject to this when abroad (Eritrea also has a foreign tax, but it’s Eritrea, they’re a North Korea like reclusive state that forces their citizens to work for govt for who knows how long)

Im curious why do so many fitness influencers and female bodybuilders live in dubai? Is it so they can get sessions from the ultra ultra rich?

How much of a market is there for muscular prostitutes amongst wealthy people in a city with a primarily Muslim population?

It's not taxes against your social media income. In other countries you pay a lot of that money back to the government. But in Dubai it's all yours

Because they're getting paid to fuck, and then they get to pretend they're successful models living in Dubai. They may or may not also be getting paid to letting Arab men piss and shit on them.

Edit this: lol at people mentioning low taxes for being the reason.

roids are legal......

I used to be based there a long time ago in the 90's and always knew that neighborhood wasn't the best. It cracked me up when everybody started flocking there like it's the greatest place in the world. Manon Dutilly comes to mind.....as soon as the bombs and rockets started to fall it was hilarious watching the influencer crowd run and move away acting shocked like "how could this happen?". I don't wish them harm but can't offer sympathy when you don't do your research.

Most of the influencer community were children in the '90's and for them 9-11 was a hazy event that their parents talked about, but not them. They grew up mostly in predominantly white affluent areas and had no idea of the creepy shit happening in certain enclaves across Europe.
