The most helpful thing would be to know the date and time (including time zone!) of one of these sign up attempts that resulted in a 500 error. That way I can check the error logs from around that time. It doesn't seem to be a global issue, since a look at the userlist shows that new accounts are registering normally.

His "most recent attempt was this morning - 7/4/25 @ 4:48 am / Central. prior to that, 7/3/25 sometime (as I recall) around 7:30 am".
I see, I think what it was is that he was trying to register an invalid username but instead of giving a nice error, due to a code change I made a few weeks ago, it was giving the 500 error. I think I fixed it so now he gets the "nice" error as intended.
Invalid how? Already in use? Illegal special characters?
I recently discovered a DM from an old friend awaiting me on dA. He asked me to inform you that he's been unable to sign up for an account here at GWM. He said he keeps getting 500 Server Errors. He's tried multiple times from different computers at different locations with different IP addresses and gotten the same error each time.
Chainer, it'd be greatly appreciated if you could look into this and hopefully figure out how to resolve the matter so he's able to sign up. Obviously, I'm acting as the "go between" here. If you need more information, ask me here and I'll relay things.
