I'd love if there was a Riley Gaines against sex crimes by religious figures, but I don't see any out there on Fox and CNN. As a whole, we have lopsided priorities on protection, it seems.
I'd wager all ~1.4 billion Catholics (old enough to speak) have, at some point, had to answer questions about this. There have been documentaries, news specials, books, magazine editorials, etc. It's not some swept under the rug issue.
Bishop Eddie Long was raked over the coals.
Seriously, what religious groups are getting a pass?

Which religious groups? Christians for one (including Catholics). And after that Muslims and Jews and everyone else. It's incredibly widespread. There have been consequences, but they are no where near enough, and this stuff keeps going.
I'll post just the quick AI summary below. And I'll also ask if the circus received 16,000 reports of credible SA allegations by children, do you think we'd allow the circus to continue to exist?
Hell no. But obviously Catholicism is important and enormous and in many ways "too big to fail," even in the face of this. But also shows that protecting the kids isn't a priority compared to maintaining the status quo.
*Accused Priests: More than 6,000 Catholic clergy members have been credibly accused of sexual abuse in the United States, with many of these accusations dating back decades. A 2021 report from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) identified 2,458 priests involved in allegations of child sexual abuse.
Abuse Allegations: The 2021 USCCB report noted 4,228 child sexual abuse allegations were reported between July 1, 2019, and June 30, 2020.
Historical Context: A study published in 2019 revealed that from 1946 to 2014, 4.4% (1670 individuals) of the Catholic clergy were accused of sexual abuse of minors, with over 80% involving "hands-on" abuse.
Underreporting: It's important to note that these numbers are likely underestimations, as clergy sexual abuse is often underreported, and many victims may never come forward. Some dioceses have not released lists of accused priests. "Credible" Allegations: Between 2004 and 2023, a total of 16,276 allegations of minors by priests, deacons, and religious were deemed credible by dioceses in the U.S.. This is defined as one victim alleging acts of abuse by one perpetrator, but can represent a single incident or a series of assaults.
Cover-ups: Many high-ranking Church officials have been accused of orchestrating cover-ups instead of protecting children. A Pennsylvania grand jury investigation in 2018 exposed the systematic cover-up of abuse by "over 300 predator priests," citing more than 1,000 child victims. *

From politics now to religion??
That's it, I now want this conversation to be declared a hate crime by the authorities, because you guys obviously hate me more than you want to talk about the primary issues. I predict they'll have this place shut down before dawn. Like in "Sinners".
I can see why most people believe the points that you're making. It's true that recently, trans athletes have been more visible, and have been winning more mid titles than before.
But only because before was essentially zero. The number is still extremely, vanishingly low. The vast majority of trans athletes are just totally unremarkable.
It wasn't zero, but it's happening more and more. Lots of boys transitioning to competing against girls, and breaking all their hard fought records thanks to their inherent biological advantages. If people like Riley Gains didn't start raising awareness, you may come to a point where girls would no longer be able to compete. Schools and coaches would care more about winning, and before you know it, girls teams would just be full of boys. No more girls' sports. Yes, I'm exaggerating, but it's not all that far from the truth. The boys are dominating the girls when they compete against them.

Oh that's bullshit and you know it. There have been a TON of awareness raised about abuse by catholic priests for many years. Countless lawsuits, activists on TV, writing books, movies, giving talks, etc.. what are you talking about?!
But Toez, that's not them getting a pass if we have detailed, publicly available data. I think your point is heads aren't on pikes outside of towns and I'll grant that that outcome has not occurred.
The person I replied to said there's no Riley making noise about these folks. We've got Chris Hansen, and various other hunters out there. Kendrick Lamar won a Grammy for a song about pedophiles and performed it at Superbowl halftime.
Still, I'm not arguing with your point that there aren't heads on pikes. My point is that this topic has widespread visibility

No Tre Senpai! You're a hero, I don't want to disappoint you. I've always assumed you're the Tre, but I guess I'm not really sure.
It would be cool if people cared this much about feeding the hungry or housing the homeless. This is a total first world problem.
We're on a niche website dedicated to the appreciation of muscular women. Of course our conversations will be first world!
You can't maintain all this muscle mass without caloric surplus.
No Tre Senpai! You're a hero, I don't want to disappoint you. I've always assumed you're the Tre, but I guess I'm not really sure.
Wait, are you the HerBiceps Tre? @tre_sayer
I've definitely assumed that you were this whole time
Oh and going back to the original post, I'll maintain that Riley Gaines does NOT look like a man, but she does look like a character that Katy Perry is playing in the "Last Friday Night" video.
Alright, lock the thread, it’s over.
Not yet byrd. I'm just getting my second wind and can get a ton more beating out of this dead horse.
Wait, are you the HerBiceps Tre? @tre_sayer
I've definitely assumed that you were this whole time
More proof we're all on the same page about most things.
I never addressed the original topic either: It is ridiculous for Simone to call out another woman for being muscular and looking manly. Especially a woman who is significantly less muscular than her. It is like Yao Ming calling out Kevin Durant for being tall.
K̄hxbkhuṇ māk. 🙏🏽
😁
I'm just a regular guy who really, really loves muscular girls, preferably those who can fight... even if her biceps are as unimpressive as Riley's.
LOL I think her biceps are fine. She has a decent body for sure.
The RuPaul level makeup and that light green shirt against her pale skin aren't doing her any favors though.
I saw that she was studying to be a dentist before the entire grifting career started. Would have been nice to get my fillings done by an athletic pretty blonde like her. Oh well.
And Tre... are you from Thailand?
@byrdcf27
Yes, welcome to America, that’s our culture.
It clearly isn't, otherwise this and a myriad of other non-economic issues wouldn't be... well, an issue.
@Muscles_Toez

You seem to be laboring under the misapprehension that this "stuff" (sexual abuse of children) can ever not be going. It's sick, vile and worthy of the heaviest penalties you can impose, but it's also part of the darkest elements of human nature, which aren't going anywhere. Whether it's priests, doctors, public school teachers (the biggest culprits by a country mile, mind you), sexual abuse of children has been with us from the beginning and shall remain with us until we're wiped out as a species.
Putting boys in girl's locker rooms, doing it by decree at times, and having one compete against the other, is perfectly and demonstrably avoidable, however. Which is why Gaines should be commended and Biles is the one who will always end up with egg on her face in this situation.
The thing is that there are various opinions here, but everybody seems to only be attacking the arguments or offering refutations; not attacking the person making the arguments. Simone resorted to ad hominem instead of staying on track.
Proving, once again, that the GWM forum is the pinnacle of civil intellectual debate.
The amount of gaslighting and self-delusion in here is unsurprising but still spectacular.
A 203rd-ranked male tennis player smoked the vaunted Williams sisters back-to-back.
Some B-/C+ male contender does not magically become his B-/C+ female counterpart when he "transitions". He enjoys an easier challenge mode while the females' difficulty level is raised.
That is not fair to the female athletes who these males take spots and trophies from, or even injure thanks to their different biology.
Extra scummy is that some proponents will then contend that the answer to negating biological advantages would be to trans even younger boys.
And Gaines was not out of line in invoking Biles' abuser because sexual abusers, like pedophiles, will go to wherever their targets are; and that includes female spaces by way of identifying as a female.
