The average man is larger and stronger than the average woman. Men naturally have much more upper body strength.
But, a woman who has trained for strength can beat an average man.
Women in contest shape are actually weakened by dieting and dehydration. However, a trained female bodybuilder who can lift and curl hundreds of pounds will be stronger than the average man in the gym.
Yeah most average active (I exclude guys whos sole physical activity is going to the shitter between 2 games of LoL) men are stronger than fit girls. If not in some traditional lifts since it requires some practice and may involve muscles you almost never use to their full extent, they'll be stronger in the kind of strength activities shown in the video. I'd wage an average man could outlift more than 95% of the girls of this site in 6 months of half-serious training.
People here love to overestimate their "goddesses" and underestimate men, it goes with the fetish. Just check all the comments, they'll say about every girl that they are enormous hulks who could beat them up while most of those girls are under 5'6 and weight less than 145 lbs. Sure they are ripped and look impressive in pictures but come on. There's only so much you can do starting with a very small frame.
Unless we talk about outliers like Trukhina or Yusuf, almost everything here you can see is achievable whether inherently or with some training, and I'm not talking about a bodybuilder counting macro taking supplements full grind training.
The difference in strength is huge, I like watching domination videos but I always look for videos where the man is super scrawny because I know it will be very hard for even a roided up FBB to dominate an average guy without it looking fake.
It's strange because they look very strong but some how they were unable to overpower the guys. the bald guy does seem relatively tough but the others not so much. when I see videos of fbbs doing impressive things it seems way beyond what most men can do. more men can do it than women maybe 1% of men vs 00.1% of women but it's rare regardless.
There will be plenty of female powerlifters and elite strength athletes who will be able to outlift average men in the lifts they train. And your average pro female bodybuilder is going to be able to outmuscle a completely sedentary man. And there will be many female gymnasts and calisthenics athletes who will be able to put a regular dude to shame at bodyweight feats and rep counts.
But as others have said, the average fit man who goes to the gym is probably going to be able to lift more than like 80% of the girls on this site. The simple difference in size gives men a massive advantage.
I'm always reminded of Lydia Lassila who is an Olympic gold medal winning skier who appeared on Australian Survivor. She was obviously extremely fit, very muscular, has an elite mindset, tough as nails, etc. She dominated nearly all of the physical challenges. Yet there were two challenges when she was directly put up against comparatively ordinary men in tests of raw strength, and in both of them she was completely outclassed despite giving a mammoth effort. There was one where she had to pull on a rope to haul a heavy tire towards her, and she legitimately took like 4 times longer than her bigger male counterparts. And this wasn't just a strong woman, this was a jacked Olympic gold medalist.
It just did a really good job of illustrating to me how in competitions of general fitness, conditioning, and endurance super athletic women can beat average fit men; but when it comes to pure strength they would have to be big girls and specialists in hauling heavy weights in order to even stand a chance.
It's harder for women to build muscle which is why they take supplements and steroids to get the buff look. Not saying it's easy for guys to be huge too, but if you take an untrained man and an untrained woman, the guy will always be stronger unless there's a large differential in size (like the girl being more than 6 inches taller).
I actually didn't think those women looked particularly strong. In fact in the tug of war, the one in front was carrying quite a bit of belly fat and the other two did not really have particularly impressive/muscular physiques either.
That does not mean that I think it's a given that stronger girls would have done a lot better though. It's just clear that women who can clearly outmuscle guys are truly rare. Men are just stronger.
In that video, I feel like the guys were better than average, as they seemed pretty fit themselves. If anything, the video should have been titled, "Fit Chicks vs. Fit Joes".

The guys in the video do in fact look like average joes. In the competitions, it really wasn't even close. They dominated. At the same time though, I would allow for the fact that the ladies don't really look like many of the GWM girls we have on this site. None of them looked particularly muscular but they looked relatively fit.
So, does this shatter the illusion that "strong" girls are stronger than average guys?
