How hard would a woman have to work to get stronger than the average guy?

Dec 28, 2024 - permalink

I'm born in a male's body and I'm 1m82 and weigh 63-64 kilograms. I'm quite skinny and don't do any weight training, I just take dancing classes and some volleyball. How much would an average woman have to workout to become stronger than me? Is it even possible without steroids? I really hate being born in this body and I would much rather be a cute small woman and I think that's why I'm attracted to strong muscular women. I constantly hear people say it's almost impossible for a woman to become stronger than the average man without steroids and this really frustrates me. Is it even true? Or do people say this because of their fragile masculinity? I'm doing my best to stay weak and hopefully get some hrt soon. I HAAAAATE being the stronger sex. Like, how much stronger are these women compared to average guys?

No, you're not "born in a male's body." You're a male. Males and females are all different from each other. One guy is different from another guy. One gal is different from another gal.

They have to work quite hard for sure but they don't need steroids and work as hard as a lot of fbbs and crossfiters and other Amazonian goddess you see on this site. it just takes some effort.

it also depends on genetics since some women are just taller or have other advantages making them stronger or weaker. you are quite tall and in good shape certainly stronger than me.

so while a short woman can be stronger than you it will take a lot of effort. while more gifted taller women will be able to get stronger than you without too much effort. And by taller I don't mean taller than you I mean over 170cm. and another big factor is what kind of strength they have. like there are a lot of women who are strong in most ways but have certain weaknesses like being bad at arm wrestling or having weak legs.

there are female martial artists that are technically not very strong. but they can overpower stronger men with their techniques and they will feel more powerful. because you never know how she may knock you out. or how she can destroy tough things with a simple kick or punch and seems to be able to take punches that would knock the average guy out. even if she can't really lift heavy things and do other feats of strength.

Also while I sometimes wish I was a dwarf and could be totally overpowered by women 2x my size. in non sexual situations it would suck I have no desire to not be a man since apart from my sexual submissiveness I like being a typical man but. I am also slightly weaker than the average man. So I know how much it sucks to be weak. like today I had to get a wrench to open a bottle of Coca-Cola that most people can open with ease.

Three years of lifting natty should do it.

About six months not natty would also do it

It is possible for some women to have higher testosterone levels than an inactive man. Just speaking purely factually. Certain medical conditions in women like PCOS can also make them produce more testosterone without steroids. Which would in turn give them the ability to build more muscle too.

Every body is different.

I am a man that does not work out. But I have on occasion gone into a gym and tested my strength. I can curl 45 pound dumbbells for 5-6 reps. I can leg press 600 pounds for 3-4 reps. I am weak when it comes to the main lifts like bench press and squats for example. I can only bench about 175, and I can't squat very much because I am already squatting my heavy body. I can squat 135.

Being 6 foot 2 and 290 pounds probably helps in the strength department because I have to haul me around all day.

Everyone is different, but for us it took about 4 years for my wife to surpass my original size and strength (from 9.75" to 13.25" biceps):

Now, after 10 years she has almost 15.5" biceps and outlifts probably 85-90% of the men in our gym (boutique gym, not a hard-core gym):

Some of her lifts are quite impressive, even compared against fit men. She can leg press 10 45lb plates all the way down for 12 reps, lateral raise 40lb dumbbells for 12 reps, row 180 lbs for 12 reps, lat pull-down 160lbs for 12 reps, and curl 75lbs on each arm for 12 reps on the preacher curl machine.

It's a shame that PCOS girls aren't everywhere encouraged to embrace the benefits of high testosterone levels.

I'm kinda with you on this @jajahenk. I remember as a kid, some of my mom's female friends took a photo of me and would call me sweet and cute because of how small and adorable I was. I kinda wanted to always be like that. I also don't invest in my "anabolic potential" because I love being a bit weaker and be a more intellectual type. I never felt the need to change genders though. To me it feels weird, scary and ultimately unnecessary. I hope you figure things out.

I also love muscular women for the fantasy of empowering downtrodden women. Seeing them beam with pride and joy at their new humonguous body and strength just fills me with so much happiness and satisfaction. Especially if they stay the same kind and nurturing persons they used to be. This is kinda why I don't agree with beardedladyfan. Testosterone is an androgen, it makes them "less female" in some sense. It feels contrary to my fantasy to have to rely on male hormones for girls and women to grow muscles. There's got to be a better way.

It's nice of you to reach out and share and I hope my own (over)sharing can help :)

who says you have to be small to be intellectual?

I didn't say that. I guess I was more trying to reference a common trope of the nerdy guy who doesn't really work out, which is kinda my case. But there are (and should be more) muscle nerds out there, who research the hell out of sports medicine and who could be called intellectual and be into anabolism.

There should be more muscle growth freaks out there to look into making female specific growth hormones. Imagine estrogenic anabolic steroids who make them go through a growth spurt everytime their estrous cycle comes around. Instead of stomach cramps, they just grow bulkier and stronger. Science has failed us!

I agree with the muscle nerds sentiment. If you haven’t checked Mike Isratael I would recommend doing so. Good quality content, funny dude too.

Be happy that you get the free strength from being a guy. Hating being the stronger gender isn't healthy. Strength is objectively useful, embrace it.

This is a great post and inspirational. You both are doing fantastic!

Geez what did you do to your WIFE? Listen buddy if you don't know the faintest thing about gear, do NOT experiment on others! Educate yourself! Use yourself as a guinea pig but for crying out loud people aren't your freaking lab rats! Anyone else feel me? The day and night different is just... I'm not even talking about the musculature by the way she's extremely top heavy, you're putting her on YOUR personal (and crummy) regime judging by your looks, it's like you wanted her to look just like you. Awful. Deep down I bet she feels very sad about the hair loss and rapid facial transformation, not to mention the imbalance...

What? That was pretty rude. They both look great! Clearly they are both on gear, but it sounds like their programming, nutrition and what they're running is working well for them.
