Do "Natty or Not" arguments annoy you?

Just as annoying as the delusional deniers are the steroid fetishists. Neither camp has much of interest to say. The entire debate typically appears to be a race to the bottom in terms of effective discussion.

Great point (potentially)...though vague and confusing.

I get so annoyed that the term "natty" itself starts to annoy me.

All this crap makes me want to vomit.

If you find that confusing, should I assume that you actively want to be confused?

Haha, not at all Case. It's just that I am trying to understand what you mean by "steroid fetishists"?

They get annoying because there’s no way to prove natty status. It’s all pointless speculation. Also, in the social media fitness community, motherfuckers are more concerned about fake natties and less concerned about getting more gains.

I think they're annoying. It's like arguing about whether a woman's breasts are real or fake. Why should it matter so much?

If a discussion regarding Natty vs Not-Natty (and yes, the term Natty is silly) is going on and you find the entire thing extremely annoying, then why bother with it? Just let it go and move on.

Of course, comments about nattiness attached to photo's or clips are annoying and should be discussed in the appropriate place...such as a thread in the Forums.

No, I think they're necessary, especially when you have women who aren't natural claiming they are, which creates unrealistic expectations for the women inspired by them and the men attracted to their type.

Sounds reasonable to me. But there are "touchy" individuals on GWM that apparently get all-worked-up over such questions.

A lot of people think steroids will just make you grow muscle while sitting all day so they think it's not as honorable. but they are wrong and they just enhance the results of the workout

Basically my thoughts. It requires serious work to acquire a physique like some of the women posted on this site with or without steroids. I would say that I have noticed that I'm generally not turned on by the more masculinised and heavily muscled women posted here and prefer something somewhere between the fitness model and female body builder physique but each to their own.

Personally I think those arguments are just a waste of time. Men who are into female muscle are a minority already so no point arguing over taste.

In the 'muscle woman admirer community', there are only two things more annoying than natty or not arguments. 2) people who whine about tattoos, and 1) bisexual guys who can't shut up about how bisexual they are and insist everyone else in the community is too.

Most annoying and pointless topic on this entire site. Yes, they annoy me.

May 25, 2024 - permalink

The frequency of them is what's annoying to me.

The odd thing about this 'issue', at least for myself, is that I cannot remember reading 1 comment re., 'nattiness' on any of the photo's or clips. But then, I don't usually look at the comments unless I add a comment myself. So, I suppose this is why I don't find such annoying. And even if I have seen such, it is obvious to me that they were unimportant and forgotten about almost instantly.

Yes, they do

2) people who whine about tattoos

This is why I recommend that people express their principled dislike against tattoos clearly but politely, without any whining. Correct tone is paramount.

1) bisexual guys who can't shut up about how bisexual they are and insist everyone else in the community is too.

I have maybe spotted this "by the way I'm bisexual" and "as a bisexual man I" thing but never the insistence you're talking about. Though technically it's true the same way octopi are homosexual.

Human body, senses and emotions react to certain signals, not some metaphysical essence of the person you're observing. Only then you suddenly realize there's something in that person that made you either ignore or misidentify his gender, such as a tall thin guy with long hair seen from behind, or misinterpret your feeling about someone's calm, confident and friendly demeanor as homosexual attraction. What may be interpreted as insecurity about one's sexual orientation is in fact insecurity about relating to likable and confident persons of one's own gender.

Strictly speaking, something is sexual only after the person makes a conscious choice to keep involving his genitals in whatever he's doing. So if someone claimed we're all really bisexual, it would definitely be untrue and misleading. But I've either not seen this happen or I've totally ignored it.

I find the arguments to be useless.

There is nothing natural about bodybuilding. Even if someone never touches PEDs, they are on a diet and exercise regimen that is abnormal. If I wanted "natural" looking women, I would not be on a website looking at someone's veiny abs. Frankly, I am not interested in how the sausage gets made. I just like the results.

There's a clear difference between what it is and why people are excited by it.

There may be some who find exciting the thought of a woman popping pills that cause her muscles to grow. Then there are those who like the idea of muscles growing. This I personally find irritating, especially when some woman has perfectly good and healthy muscles and someone comments that it's a "good start" or that she's "getting there", as if every woman here was destined to become a ridiculously ballooning striated mass. Then there are those who find the side effects exciting.

I think quite many like the idea of these women being what I'd call muscular personalities. They ignore the entire issue of PEDs or even the amount of time spent in the gym, as if the woman had grown big without doing almost anything. They want to think of normal girls with big big muscles, as opposed to girls who invest heavily into shaping their bodies. Girl next door personalities instead of bodybuilder personalities. A hilarious way to summarize it would be that they want the muscles but not the bodybuilder.

Some are drawn to the real or imagined focus and determination of the fit or muscular girl next door or the girl they knew in school. I understand this because there is a certain kind of envy or longing to be the determined and successful child yourself. But it has always sounded somewhat hollow to me to admire unknown adult women for their dedication and determination. As if browsing this site alone was a way to support them.

Frankly, I am not interested in how the sausage gets made. I just like the results.

I believe you mean you ignore the issue of PEDs as in you don't mind. But it's at least as common for some to ignore the issue of PEDs because they would mind very much. Girls with muscle, not female bodybuilders with muscle.

People fetishize PEDs, muscle growth, PED side effects and finally just muscles but I doubt anyone fetishizes the hard work. Depending on this people then emphasize, do what they can to ignore or don't mind the role of PEDs.
