An Da Jeong Retiring?

The excessive use of prescription diuretics used during cutting and water shedding are what’s most likely to blame. The athletes dry out so much it can cause organ failure. They are extremely dangerous.

None of those cases mentioned has anything to do with diuretics. Jeong had her heart attack days after competition.

Nobody here is on the medical team which took care of An. So, start from the basis that no one here knows shit. Fact.

There are many examples of competitors suffering cardiac emergencies around the time of shows, and they've been reported to be linked directly to diuretic use. If you significantly disrupt your sodium-potassium levels, body systems can fail. That's a medical reality, no matter how many people have successfully done so.

It sucks but I guess that's the risk of PEDs. It makes me worry for people like Anastasia Leonova. Yes she looks amazing but with everything she's taking there is no way that can be healthy.

Leonova has gotten massive and ripped so fast, but correct me if I’m wrong, steroids are legal there so at least she has access to pharmaceutical grade stuff which is safer. Of course safer, doesn’t mean safe.

Yeah this stuff is happening way more frequently in the last few years. It really came to light when Christian Eriksen collapsed during the Euros. Its definitely strange to see a rapid increase in heart problems for young athletes. Actually just had a friend who recently passed away from this too while he was doing an at-home workout. It’s such a shame and scary to see a rise (statistically, not just anecdotally) in heart issues in 20 and 30 year olds.

Some of it is congenital, not drug related. Just so happens they happened to be athletes with the issue. Just think it’s getting reported on more these days

Congenital heart issues in pro sports is highly improbable. All pro athletes are screened heavily. Not so in BB. Amateur level it might be possible to slip through.

It’s just that steroids are everywhere now, and kids in high school are taking it. By the time these people are in their 30s, they’ve been on the juice almost 20 years.
