Fitness industry merging with the Sex industry

Mar 29, 2022 - permalink

Sex sells, but nowadays a huge amount of physique athletes produce X rated content. And the vast majority have turned their instagram into soft porn.

In a weird way I think this made female athletes more mainstream and visible, and the IFBB seems to acknowledge this and doesn't mind at all when their champions openly sell sex.

What's your opinion on the subject?

Bodybuilders have always been horny and catered to horny people. The number of bodybuilders, male AND female, who have offered sessions on the DL throughout the decades of the sport is staggering. The fact that we now have things like OnlyFans and Pornhub has both made this aspect more public and added a level of safety: the performers can choose whether to interact with their thirsty fans in person. So there are upsides and downsides.

Definitely on point. Surprised from experience how much they get into with non-muscular dudes.

could you post some examples of who you're talking about? you know... for research.

and i should edit to say that i agree about the cross section of the fitness industry and sex industry. as someone who's been into muscular women for a long time i am ecstatic

I personally see the crossover to the sex business more problematic than 20 years ago. It appears that many women got into a popularity competition and social media is already satured. I personally cant see a genuine interest nor professional marketing.

I still remember the times when muscle elegance came out: it had some sort of "artful" approach, and at the same time more explicit than the OF accounts or assorted websites today. There were TV documentaries, and the girls have been to either fitness as well as porn business expos.

It was just a sexually more liberate time, today its more hypocitical - the girls after a quick buck and attention, the fans after quick satisfaction.

I remember that reading a swedish Bodybuilding mag in the days when Tonya Knight came into the scene. Don´t remember exactly, but it was some "backlash" about her bikini bottom that show "to much skin". This would be 1988 (ish??) and since then the bottom bikini has "shrunken" , a Lot. Now I see they more to pose in thongs in shows/competition. So the now "x rated" as the OP writes about ain´t a thing that "come from nowhere". Everything is sexualised today, and, believe me - it will be "worse" or better (more sexualised) depending on your prefered preference. Just look at the most popular pics on this site and I see the more "curves" and sometimes in "provocative" poses (read - sexualised poses/showing their back/glutes while leaning forward and sticking their butt all out.

It's the usual everlasting question: "Is fbb a sport discipline...or a pageant?"

If you consider it the latter, like any oher aesthetics-based contests, it's expected to focus mostly on sex appeal and in any way it can be made. And for many lifters, it's much easier (and profitable) to maintain some level of conditioning / muscle mass and just produce material at their homes or in a studio instead of prepping / dieting / paying inscription fees / risking losing onstage...and only then hoping for a sponsor to come up and contact them.

I personally don't get into the sport aspect of FBBs or female fitness models, it is about the looks for me. The more FBBs or girls with a fitness background in port, the better! Less stick thin models. I'm just not into the smothering and wrestling stuff, that's weird.

Decades ago the IFBB had banned a woman athlete that posed for Playboy! I don't remember the exact details. Nowadays the wellness category is pretty much soft porn onstage with extra muscles. They had rules against thongs, piercings , tattoos and stripper heels and now it is just don't flash us.

Interesting times ahead for the sport, maybe a pure sex business decides to get involved.

I think IFBB is mostly about showing off and muscular beauty competition. Makes total sense for merging or overlap with the sex industry.

The answer to this question should be two new questions: How many woman start to train heavy for our sexual pleasure!? Probably zero women!! How many women will try to benefit from it and make easy bucks when they do get muscular!? Apparently a few! This is what I believe is the correlation. We (me included) are off course the ones who make this choice available. I hate it off course, but can’t help it. What if women soccer was the same thing!? If the only way for them to make money was to play naked with fans who jerk off to their games!? It’s off course not beautiful. The least we as creepy fans could do is to treat our stars with utter respect.

Who is the woman athlete?

He's probably referring to Anita Gandol. I don't remember her being banned, but maybe she was.

Yep that's her! Thanks for the research. Such a strange feeling viewing her photos.

No butt shots, no underwear, no nipples, no bending over. Even her Playboy photo is totally tame compared to a random Instagram post of a wellness chick.
