Politics game starts now and girls that get extra points for conditioning but maybe would place lower otherwise will be mad. But it’s healthier for them in the long and short run.

tag is right, though. Standards are changing every year and cycle so I expect the it to be right back where it is now I’m not too long

No one is changing anything. At least not permanently. Physique was supposed to be less hard than bodybuilding. It's not! In fact, most of the top physique girls are as hard or harder than the female bodybuilders. They added wellness because the figure girls got bigger and harder as the physique girls got bigger and harder. I see so many women who upon sight, I can't tell if they are figure or physique. Walking in my gym a few weeks ago, I saw through the door, what I thought was a woman's physique competitor I had never seen in my gym before. Turns out she was a top level pro figure girl, who used to be based in our gym a few years ago. She was a few days before competition and she was bigger and harder (and more beautiful, IMO) than ever. By the way, this figure girl has been placing top 10 in pro shows for many years. And a few days later, at her comp, she finished top 5 in FIGURE.

People, there is nothing healthy about this sport. Its frightningly dangerous bystage time. Baseball banned A Rod for taking probably a small amount of what these athletes are givin. there will always be newer and newer 'advantages'....

Agreed. A few years ago I could easily tell figure, physique and bodybuilding apart, now it's harder.

Added in Edit: Some figure girls are the same size as small physique girls and some large physique girls are the same size as small bodybuilding girls.

I agree about the difference between figure and physique. I can't tell the difference sometimes. One girl is Alicia Bell. The pictures of her and her arms look like she can do physique.

Yeah the differences are more subtle these days. I think figure girls focus on capped delts and wide lats, and for the most part are only slightly smaller than physique. And physique and bodybuilding don't seem to have any distinction from each other except for mandatory poses.

Would be willing to bet that women that stick with figure don’t quite have the dramatic shapes that wpd have. Sometimes anyway.

There are women like Julia Monroe that can do both. There are some that could not pull both off.

I remember years ago when Jennie Gray was making the rounds I encouraged her to try wpd right when it came out. She has huge delts and really great biceps. It took her another 3-4 years to dive in but she won her first show. And that was long enough ago that wpd hadn’t gotten so enormous. Now the entire scale has slid in one direction and as y’all have mentioned, figure girls are fucking huge.

Heck, someone like Laura Ehlen has 16-17” off season arms and like 19” calves (bless). Could you imagine that a decade ago 😂
