Where do you draw the line between what's considered gay and what's not?

Jul 05, 2021 - permalink

So far on this board I've seen topics about deep roid voices, excessive body hair, facial hair, women over 6 feet tall, huge pecs with little to no breasts, big clits, huge muscles and vascularity due to steroid abuse, and various clothing styles that look very masculine. I personally do not consider anyone who is attracted to any of this stuff to be gay as long as the bodybuilder in question is a biological woman, but where does everyone else draw the line? I've also seen a lot of videos on Youtube and porn sites of an FBB with huge muscles and pecs where actual gay men leave comments about how they find it attractive even though they only like men.

Why are you concerned about what is 'gay' or not? You are either attracted to something or you are not. As long as it is between consenting adults, it doesn't matter how it is perceived.

I'm pretty sure its considered gay, if you're attracted to your own gender, not this what you listed

It's also very possible for a secure man to admire other men and masculine women without fearing that he's gay.

Also, bisexuality is a thing.

Of those things you mention that can be considered side-effects of long-term steroid usage as deep roid voices, excessive body hair, facial hair and big clits is really a turn-off for me and yes, being attracted to typical male features signals gay to me. Huge muscles is though to me extremely feminine, together with super long (knee-long) hair and long (one inch long) nails.

Only each individual person knows if they're gay, bi, straight or one of the many nuanced options for self definition that are available these days. It's not something that can be determined objectively by feature-based classification in he way you describe. People can be straight and prefer very masculine features, feminine-yet-fit, or enjoy many things on the spectrum. People can also be asexual, bi or gay and likewise have very narrow or wide preferences and experiences w sexuality. I want to live in a world where whatever you are and whatever you enjoy is welcome without shame.

Everyone has their own definition of what falls under the gay territory, loving vascularity, even flat chests with big pecs IMO is not.

But being attracted to facial hair on women (beards) falls under that category for me

I'm not sure, though to be fair I'm bisexual so probably not a good judge for this topic.

Individuals may vary. It appears most people(average women above all) find being attracted by a muscular women to be sign of a hidden gay tendence...

Everyone is born trans. Go.

Also it's Very Important™️ to add boundaries where they don't exist.

For example, if you do cocaine once, are you a junkie? If you suck one dick, are you gay/bi?

For a group that largely insists on not being gay, we sure discuss it a lot.

The definition what is gay in terms of appearance or behaviour is subjective. It is also cultural.

As examples, for the cultural aspect:

  • In France, two guys kissing each on the cheeks goodbye: not gay; In the US: considered gay
  • In India, two guys holding hands: not gay; In the US: considered gay
  • In most of the world, two people of same gender having dinner: not; In the US: "they must be gay"

Or a guy admits to taking dance lessons, so some people decide they must be gay, while the guy is getting to hang out with women and enjoying their company.

The point I am trying to make is that you can't really come with a clear definition, since it really is subjective. For this reason don't get hung up and just enjoy the company of the person you are attracted to - well unless you are in countries like Russia, Poland and Hungary where you probably need to be really secretive.

I'm pretty certain that 'gay' is when one is sexually attracted to the same gender.

I'm pretty sure gay is when you like it and/or make eye contact.

Who worries about this.

If you like female muscle, and you're a male, then you're not gay. If you prefer male muscles, and you're a male, then perhaps you have reason to wonder. Female muscles are of the female kind, and if you are attracted to female muscle, then why even question your sexual orientation. Moreover, in nature, muscles are part of the scene, and fast female lions catching prey is as natural as the new day... If you still question your orientation, maybe you need more advice that can be provided on this site. Good luck, although you don't need luck, just look at muscles in the natural environment, and they are not exclusive to gender.

Are you a man who likes and wants to sleep with men? Then you’re gay. Are you a man who likes muscular women, even super buff ones, but are not into men? Then you’re not gay.

Also, onto your last point about gay men saying that FBBs are attractive: you can find someone attractive and yet not be into them.

Gay is being attracted to your own sex. Not that it is wrong, obviously. It’s just that simple

Easy, if you like cock as a man you are gay, everything else is not gay.

There is no grey area. If you don't like dudes, you ain't gay. This ain't even worth discussing 🤷‍♀️

I mean some of the things you mention aren't even male traits or side affects of steroid abuse. Women can be naturally 6 feet plus and steroids don't change that. A masculine style of clothing likewise is perfectly acceptable and common regardless of if one is a bodybuilder or otherwise. Moreover the majority of fbbs have smaller bust sizes mostly due to the massive ammounts of cardio they have to do to lean down.

I get the sense that what you are trying to ask is whether we think being attracted to a woman on steroids is gay or not. Personally I look at it like saying being attracted to a female meth addict or chain smoker is gay. Annabolic steroids are a drug that on women have virilising effects; meth and tobbaco causes numerous health problems in both men and women but for women especially it can cause women to develop more masculine traits like deeper voices and hair loss.

I do find some of the people on this website whom seem to fetishise the virilising effects of steroids to be a bit gross and frankly it's too much for me personally. But at the same time I have favourited pictures of women on this site who have admitted to taking steroids. If anyone says you're gay for being attracted to women regardless of how masculine or buff they are then you should tell them: a.) It's none of their bussiness b.) It's not gay to be attracted to biological women (unless you are female yourself) and c.) What's so bad about being gay?
