Complaints that girls make about muscle pics share

I agree this is likely. I get the impression a lot of women become annoyed at what they perceive as a loss of control over their image. Basically, although they might have signed up for Twitch or Insta, they did not sign up for this. Now we all realize that such a reaction is not exactly rational because of the nature of The Internet, but I can see how someone could feel that way. These image sharing platforms (like Insta) really create the sense that it is a closed community. They most certainly do not try to disavow what the reality actually is.

Which is unfortunate because Instagram knows better. It will never be able to protect them 100%. It's the Internet, as soon as it is posted, they no longer have control over where it ends up. No one wants to accept responsibility for this. The girls want to remain naive and act like these things won't or shouldn't happen, and certain users of this community want to keep treating them as pornstars and therefore fueling the flames. And of course Instagram is making promises it can't keep by claiming they are protecting them from this, but at the same time they assume no responsibility for when it does happen... which is all the time.

And the difference between GWM site and their Instagrams is... that here such comments are removed by mods.

I agree with marasso. On all websites, there are people making trashy (even creepy) comments. If you search Reedit with the name of some popular GWM model, you will find threads with pictures and comments equal or worse than the ones here. Same with Instagram. In that sense, I don't think GWM is a specially bad website. About the girls who complain, I think there are tree types of girls in general:

  1. Girls who directly expose their muscles because it is part of their "professional career". A clear example is the girls who compete in Bodybuilding (in any of its categories). This sport ultimately consists of a group of judges scoring their bodies.
  2. Girls who earn money directly by exposing their muscles on Onlyfans or Instagram accounts.
  3. Girls who casually or indirectly expose their muscles to the public. An example would be the crossfit girls. Their sport is not about showing off their bodies, but about doing different strength and endurance competitions. Another case would be this "gamer" girl Hanner. I think she coincidentally came up with the idea of showing off her biceps on some Twitch stream.

Girls 1 and 2 should be used to dealing with the public and the idiots that go along with it. However, girls in the group 3 may be uncomfortable with some comments or even the very idea of this "fetish" for female muscle. And understandably so.

I also think that being a fan of female muscle is a very stigmatized thing. Speaking of Twitch, many of these gamer girls earned their audience by showing their boobs. In fact, Twitch had to ban cleavages. And I can't imagine these girls complaining about their videos being on a website like girls with big boobs, or something like that.

I'd harp more about "DON'T FUCKING INVADE THE WOMEN'S SOCIAL MEDIA YOU FUCKING IDIOTS" but I'm a bit resigned to the fact that the people who most need to hear that are the least likely to listen.

I ask myself, how do you know who is invading your social media? How do you know if they are GWM users? How do you know if they visit this site?

In the video she said she noticed the uptick in tactless flex requests after her videos were posted here, which is how she found them.

On one hand, i do feel guilty about liking this shit, but also, there could be way worse stuff to like...

Yeah that’s how I feel. I don’t think too deep about it. I don’t think about it everyday and it’s kinda whatever to me. But I may be desensitized. I enjoy this on a personal and also respectful level

I didn't see the video, did she check the posting date of her images? Does she keep track of the comments dates? It's a bit hasty to blame this problem to GWM. This site has only 60,000 subs... I think GWM's excessive visibility makes it look more "guilty" than it really is. Maybe the troublemakers are forum saradas users, but we don't realize it.

Anyway, now that the comments are not public, this kind of complaints should be less frequent.

Another more radical measure to avoid these problems would be to make the names of the models and their images visible only to the users. But this would greatly reduce the visits.

I would also like to recommend to the mods to be stricter with this kind of girls, who are not from this "little world" of female muscle, like Hanner. I've been looking at her pictures, and I think the moderators should evaluate if it's worth having a girl like her here. To avoid problems for us and her.

One thing I think is going on is that they want attention but from the “right” people. Idk who the “right” people are but in the dating world if you are an unwanted advance you are creepy or weird. If your approaching and she sees it as “acceptable” at the least then that’s ok. There are many users on this site that behave in the unwanted category—you don’t have to look far in the Instagram comments to see some of the ridiculous stuff that gets posted. Stick to NORMAL COMPLIMENTS instead of commenting on body hair, or comparing them to someone else, or asking if they can step on small creatures, or whatever.

I’m somewhat guilty of this too and have been blocked many, many times (even if my comments weren’t inappropriate the persistence became that way), and even though I’ve been moderately successful when asking them for videos I never cross one of those super odd lines.

So...

If ever the site gets shutdown for legal reasons, do we have a backup plan bois?

Excellent question.

How long have you guys been alive and on the internet? Why is it so hard to deal with the fact that there are some weird people out here and not react with "cringe" and "secondhand embarrassment"? I get a little tired of women claiming they feel unsafe or creeped out because some fools make dumb comments. And I also get pretty tired of men who play along and act like they're the protectors of women and pretend that this isn't a sexual fetish.

We're all here because we like the way these women look. Why would anyone expect that the comments would reflect anything but that?

I get that some people take it too far, but you can't control the world, you can only control your reaction to it.

What do you guys think about girls complaining on the fact that her photos are being shared on websites like GwM?

I saw 'deadleii' recently doing this somewhere, saying her pics were being sexualized here without her consent and that the act itself was disgusting. 'Hanner' did this too. She even recorded a video on her youtube page saying how 'creepy' this community (and the hole idea) was.

Do you guys feel you are 'creepy' like that, lol? Is there anyone wrong in this situation?

Who cares??

Did Hanner say that? I saw this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5RITa4Mxcw&a...

And it seemed she was cool with it.

Ha, she quoted one of my comments. It read: "So dudes watch her play video games and send care packages?" I should have added, "What a bunch of weirdos." Perfectly normal dudes salivate over her "delicious" biceps and post second- specific time-stamps for when "both heads are flexed."

She seems really cool.

She seems indeed, but no more flex uploads ever since. She was not really angry, but surprised about something like this even exist, and avoided flex her biceps once she knew.

The problem is one of binary thinking. Everything must be all or nothing to the average male: All women who bodybuild MUST do it for purely exhibitionistic/sensual/sexual reasons. And these exact same women ALSO complain about being sexualized by strangers, even though it's a complete paradox.

There's a massive difference between a muscular girl just posting a bikini pic on her Instagram, and someone who actively posts sexual content because it's her bread and butter. It would be nice for guys to at least TRY to control themselves and not be complete pigs no matter what the image shows.

By the by, the worst excuse for dick behavior is "well, she posts pics online so therefore we're allowed to say disgusting things with impunity and if she doesn't like it she doesn't understand the world" or whatever. The world is all stocked up on ugly behavior, we don't need to add more.

That's correct. It's a rich discussion imo because, as Trunchbull said, the overexposure that Internet demands and the act of complaining about being exposed is, by itself, a kind of paradox. I myself uploaded some stuff of deadleii and had no idea she could be angry about it. She's probably a type 03 girl as you said.

About sexuality itself, the fact is the Internet is now open for almost anyone to make some money with anything, so many pretty (and muscular) girls make money with their beauty. So twitch (a gaming platform) has girls flexing and posing; Instagram (a more individualistic platform) too; Facebook (a more family one) too; even places like onlyfans will display many girls flexing and posing. Not easy to discern who is on the "muscle business" or not, since every corner is being monetarily enhanced. Sometimes you're just appreciating that beauty, not in a creepy way, but being rude to someone as it point of view.

Maybe if girls like deadleii weren't explicit sexualized like some of you said, she would be okay with that. By doing so, the jerks move away those regular girls, flexing in a casual way, which are the prettiest imo, from a place like GwM, then it's sad to see this kind of digital rudeness.

True. The same thinking of "she showed her legs, we're allowed to sexual harrass her".

I agree. But models who make money or compete in sports by showing off their bodies should understand that this entails dealing with a disgusting minority of men. Nor should they be outraged if their photos end up on a site like this. The same goes for the girls on Twitch, who showed their boobs with big necklines. They shouldn't be surprised by the creepy comments.

And it is unfair that they accuse an entire community for what a few do.

Then maybe it's said community's responsibility to eradicate creepy comments and police ourselves better.

Even "girls who show their boobs with big necklines" are not looking to be treated like trash, and deserve basic respect. Even more so, being willing to share their bodies in a society that actively wants people to hate themselves.

One of the reasons I agreed to mod was to prune out the worst of the comments.

Obviously this site is a bit of an old school “portal” and if you choose you can follow someone’s social media for more direct access, but the blacklist on this site is rather length (for various reasons) and the more egregious comments can cause women to pull their photos or make their socials private altogether.

They know people look at their photos but they don’t necessarily want to be explicitly reminded of that. So I signed on to help guide people away from those kinds of public comments. I don’t care what you do in your head but you all are the public facing element.

What does it say about a person who comes on a forum like this to complain about rude comments about women by making rude comments about men? Where are you moderators when guys like Trunchbull up above are making rude, stereotypical, sexist, dumb ass comments about men? You can make your point without the gratuitous "men are pigs" bullshit. I can get my fill of that from the mainstream media, I don't need to see that here too.

Because quite a lot of men ARE pigs. Some women are too, but not nearly as many. This is an empirical fact. I ain't complaining, I added my opinion to a thread.

It would be nice if more guys were sweet and flirtatious, instead of "Omgee ur so hott (eggplant, water squirt, water squirt)"
