Can you separate the muscle fetish from your daily life?

Jan 22, 2021 - permalink

I think the idiosyncracies of personal attraction are fascinating because opinions vary so wildly between different people. I guess this is less a specific question and more of a jumping off point for sharing personal musings and experiences. With that being said, do you find that your attraction to muscular women is integrated with the rest of your life, or do they exist entirely separate from each other? Speaking from personal experience, I've never had the two cross over. Even when I'm dating someone, I realize now that I've never once asked them to work out with me, nor do I have the impetus to. For me it's like my fetish and my normal tastes exist in completely different centers of my brain, and that the fetish part ceases to exist when I talk and interact with real women. To be fair, I guess my attraction to muscular women is really only skin deep, because I don't have any fantasies related to domination or wrestling or anything else. I'm a very vanilla man in every other regard. I just like the aesthetics of a buff woman, but personality is another thing. The most "out-there" thing I've done romantically is date a girl who was a good bit taller than me, but height didn't play a part in our relationship at all. I guess what I'm asking is if others can relate or if I'm just over here like "fetish machine broke"

I don't call it a fetish. I don't want to be dominated by, embarassed by, outlifted or overpowered by women, I just prefer the aesthetics of muscles on the female form, that's it.

Why would I want it separated from daily life? I'm into muscular women, what would be the point of dating non-muscular women? They'd never be able to satisfy me. It might be "unmanly" or "beta" but I'd rather have no gf, than a gf who is not my type.

Goop I’m like you: I don’t even know any muscle girls in my life nor I search them in my life; I don’t think this taste is even a fetish, because well I like girls and women in general and for my tastes normal girls with standard features and bodies. This is just another site for non-nude girl images

Pretty much how i feel @M76..... I just love the look and feel of a hardbody and after I dated a muscular woman in college, I've been friends with, but I've had no desire to be in a long term intimate relationship with a woman who doesn't live a fitness lifestyle. Seriously, there's something different about a fit and muscular woman than just the obvious, that I'm very attracted to.

I've never been able to separate it from my life. A typical woman does nothing for me, NOTHING! The sensuality, sexuality, whatever you want to call it, is so intense, that it's the only thing that drives my libido. I've been this way for as long as I can remember and when I think back, my hormones kicked in early. To me it's the look and feel of a muscular woman. It's also the way they seem to carry themselves. It's not about being overpowered or dominated. There were some very early incidents when I was overpowered by a girl and got extremely turned on. In Florida when I was maybe 8, my neighbor Eileen, the same age, ripped this toy alligator out of my and tore it apart. I chased her down and tackled her but she took my arms, rolled me over and pinned my arms to the grass with ease. I just stared into her defiant green eyes...I was so in love after that, lol. It's all about the muscle and how incredible the muscle feels on a woman though.

I wouldn't call my love for muscle women a fetish at all, and it has never interfered with my daily life. I'm just as attracted to "normal" women as I am muscular women, and don't consider either better than the other. And like M76 said, I have no interest in being dominated by, embarrassed by, out-lifted or overpowered by any of these ladies, I just enjoy them for what they are.

I've always been turned on by muscles on a woman, but none of the women I've been with have been muscular at all, nor would that be a demand of mine. I find that women in general don't understand how easy it is for most men to separate fantasy from reality, which makes women unnecessarily insecure.

Since the conversation went there, domination is definitely a turn-on as well, but it's not exclusive to muscle. Non-muscular will do too.

I respect women who become muscled. I had a friend who was muscular and she didn’t like to show it I tried to let her know it was okay but I think she felt very self conscious about it. I always thought it was sexy but I didn’t want her to know that.

I have come to acknowledge it as a fetish for me. I try to turn it down in my daily life. I have only been with girls who were in some way or another either muscular or fit. I would not be able to fall for a girl who is not muscular or fit I wish I could, cause it would make it so much easier. If I meet a fit girl I almost instantaneously fall for her. Most recently a colleague of mine...well at least it makes sure I almost don't have any sick days :p

Attraction is not a function of bodyweight. I've seen plenty of attractive women who were overweight a bit, hell a lot of bodybuilders look kind of fat off-season. I don't mind that.

A fetish, as I understand it, is simply an abnormal attraction. Foot fetishes are the most common. Attraction to breasts (within a normal range) is not a fetish. Attraction to muscular women is certainly a fetish. Fetishes are normal.

I like the aesthetic of fit/muscular women, but I can also find conventionally attractive women utterly intoxicating. I don't think a fat woman has ever turned me on (unless she had an amazing voice -- but the spell would be broken the instant I saw her). Sexually, overweigh/non-athletic women are not much different to me than men. Obese people are almost as repulsive as skeletal humans.

Is the attraction to muscular women separate from real life? Almost absolutely. It's rare to see very fit women in the wild, let alone muscular women. It's just something that hardly ever comes up. I am not into domination, worship, wrestling etc, and so I don't often appreciate the comments on pictures about how some lady could easily beat up her friend. Why would she ever want to do that?! I've read some of the erotica stories, which I can tolerate on occasion, but the videos are alternately comical and cringey. I think the "skin deep" analogy describes me well.

This is pretty much the only website I visit to admire women. Not into pornography. I watch a lot of movies, so I see conventinally attractive women there, and in real-life. And that's it. Very vanilla.

To me, a muscular female is so hot, that my libido basically goes into overdrive. I can't even remember a time in my long life that muscles on girls didn't drive me bonkers! I hid my passion for many years because for a painfully long time, society deemed muscles on females as taboo. I never heard anyone say wow, that buffed woman is sexy. Now of course, society has awakened! I'm up front and honest with women now about my taste in women and several have worked out to enhance our sex lives.

If only I could connect my female muscle fetish with my real life, lol! ;)

I don't really want to be dominated, or have a "session," or whatever it is people do. But I like the look of a muscular woman and it's hard for me to switch it off.

If I see one in public, it is hard not to look (dangerous when you're married, even more dangerous if the muscular girl is a high school athlete that doesn't look quite 18).

When I was single I joined a couple of different gyms on the theory that the best place to see a muscular woman was in a gym. I rarely saw any muscle ladies since the vast majority of women were either obese women trying to lose weight or cardio bunnies just wanting to keep off the pounds. When I did see one it was hard not to stare ... you learn the art of stealing a glance while working with the dumbbells.

It's who I am... So why should I?

Both Gaucho and I are married to FBBs. He’s right - it’s who we are... and when you say “Fetish”, it has a negative connotation suggesting “deviance.”

I believe that guys who spend their whole lives trying to separate, and even conceal it, from their daily normal lives make it worse. They reinforce the idea it’s only a fetish and that we’re deviants to the rest of society, and they are worse off thinking of themselves that way and this self-inflicted guilt they are slaves to a “fetish”.

So it’s always a part of me and I don’t deny it. There’s not a me attached to muscular woman and another version. Only one ... I try to live an authentic life and it worked out well when I stopped trying to separate/hide/compartmentalize my attraction to female muscle. For the record, I’m not into domination or some of the other behaviors we see on this site. I like muscle.

"a strong and unusual need or desire for something. : a need or desire for an object, body part, or activity for sexual excitement"

By definition, this is a fetish. Using another word for it doesn't change what it is. Whatever guilt or shame someone feels about it, or what they perceive to be society's judgment of it, is a separate thing.

A particular fetish might be unusual, but since I believe most people have at least one, they can be considered common as a whole. People just don't usually talk about theirs.

I had a client who was a phycologist and struck up a conversation with her about my extreme attraction to muscular women. This conversation was very uncomfortable to me, being that she was obviously a woman and this took place in the very early female bodybuilding era. I was separated from my muscular wife and sadly going through a divorce. It was like withdrawal to me. If you are into muscular women and had one in your life, then suddenly, she's gone....that is hard!!! This Doctor really put me at ease and actually encouraged me to continue my pursuit of fit women. At that depressing point in my life, I wanted to be hypnotized or brainwashed into accepting average, unmuscled women. She convinced me that my fetish (she did call it a fetish) was no different than liking huge breasts, or skinny women or fat women. It was also the very first time I had ever heard of the word sthenalagnia, which she was was actually familiar with. I have happily pursued nothing but fit women ever since, although at times, they didn't start out buffed but I talked them into hitting the gym with me.

It’s not a fetish to be attracted to muscular women. Definitions in psychology are always being updated. Muscular women are part of the spectrum of all women. Some may find big breasts exciting others blonde hair etc. I’m a fit male so I find athletic fit women very attractive. Seeing that a woman has shared values with me is attractive. Intelligence and a good overall personality are also important. Life is short so don’t settle for less if that’s what turns you on.

"Definitions in psychology are always being updated."

Says people who can't accept the definition. If you're regularly on GWM, you almost certainly have a muscle fetish. Just accept it an embrace it. If it makes you feel better to use the term "fixation," go right ahead.

A fetish is a part of who you are, so it is difficult for some to see that as true. But it is just that, a part of you. Don't let your fetish define who you are. There are so many parts to a person, that having a fetish is nothing to be ashamed about especially here. You just have to remember that you can't let your fetish define you or how you look for relationships with others. Only then is that a problem
