Photos from the public IG accounts/websites of professional photographers.

Apr 25, 2020 - permalink
Many of the best pictures come from professional photoshoots, and these pictures are posted on the public IG profile pages or even websites of the respective photographer. Sometimes the images even contain the watermark or insignia of the photographer.

I understand some photographers, such as Sean Nelson, despite posting the images publicly, do not want their images posted on this site. But I do not know all photographers who prohibit posting photos here. For example, Jason Oliphant. Could we make a unique page listing all photographer profiles that fall in this category? I do not like wasting my uploads by posting a great pic, only to have it deleted later because "pictures from xxxx photography are not allowed on this site". It would be nice if I could check first.

P.S. I am not talking about individual models, I know simply typing in their name will return whether they allow pictures on this site or not. I am talking about watermarked images.

There is a list available only for the mods.  Their "whitelist" of acceptable photographers/sites that are allowed on the site.

Your mention of Sean Nelson is a good point. Far as I know, Sean shoots mostly for Her Biceps. When the new Her Biceps Plus site opened last summer, there was a note somewhere on the GwM site that HB management was OK with limited uploads of their stuff to this site. Lately, it seems that some uploaders are getting carried away with HB stuff.

As a paying customer to Her Biceps, I'm getting more irritated that this isn't being policed very well here at GwM. Of course, maybe the mods haven't been watching either, thinking there was a reasonable agreement in place for uploading Her Biceps. I know I haven't reported anything, even old HB stuff, being uploaded because the guidance has gotten more murky.

Mods tend to look at things being reported.  They might notice a stray pic on their own from time to time, but they depend more on reported "Copyright" violations.  If it's not reported, chances are good it won't be removed.

Generally I don't believe we remove such pictures unless that's been requested by the photographer, or the photographer is associated with one or more paysites and it's not worth trying to track down the providence of every picture.

The whitelist is mostly only used for things from paysites, the following have given permission for limited amounts of their promo material to be posted:

(although there are so many herbiceps photos floating around they're likely to be removed unless the promo source is directly given, it just doesn't happen immediately)

Those are the relevant entries on the whitelist, the rest are mostly defunct sites or photographers who haven't made their own submissions in years.

The photographer/owner of zoltanveghvideos.com also posts his own stuff and I believe doesn't mind other users putting up things he's released publicly.
