Kristina Nicole Mendoza switching to Wellness

As I mentioned earlier, I think she reached as far as she was going to go with her physique when she placed sixth at the Olympia. Bodybuilding at the elite level is all about genetics: they dictate how you respond to training, nutrition, body composition and even responding to gear. What we saw that year was most likely her absolute peak. Especially when it comes to gear usage, there is a point where the ROI on what you take, and how much of it, becomes very little for the amount of damage you do to your body. She may have realized that she would have had to get on a lot more for only marginal, if any, gains with high risk of negative sides and damage. Look at what happened to Dallas McCarver.

Moving to Wellness may be the smartest move in terms of success. It may even have nothing to do with being more liked, she might actually be able to place top 3, or even win.

I may not necissarly agree but hey thats why the are opinions and everyone has them. Shes def gonna have to put in the work in wellness, hell probably be on nearly the same amount of gear🤣🤣.But seeing these wellness girls now, she may not be able to match the level of conditioning they are bringing either. It will be intersting to see how she stacks up

It's not a given that she'll get implants. Tefani-Sam Razhi and Bianca Siles are two great wellness athletes that are placing well without implants and KNM has a ton more natural beauty than both (IMHO). Lol - as someone posted just above me to illustrate :D

True and i hope she holds off on them, as you point out the recent sucsess of those without. As far as the beauty goes i would say that has alot to do with whos looking.

I've seen her in person. She more than has the leg mass to succeed in wellness.

However, wellness is a younger girl and a prettier girls game. To me, Kristina is one of the most beautiful women on the planet. Not sure that the judges of this division feel the same.

She doesn't need advice from me, but if she wanted a new career that isn't sex work, she easily has the brains and the personality to be a larger, older Leanbeefpatty.

So many of these amazing women get locked into the idea that formal competition is the be all and end all of success in fitness, and every year this can't be further from the truth.

This is why I think competitive bodybuilding won't be around much longer in roughly 10 years.

I’ve been wanting to go to a competition, but it seems like the most fun is at the expos.

Both things are true.

The expos are great, and they're a good way to see a bunch of pros and get an idea for what a competition is like. But they're only held a few times a year and in specific places, so many people talk about going and then never do because of distance or cost or whatever.

Local amateur shows are cheap and fun and the people there REALLY appreciate the support. Especially the women. Like if you go to a local show and give a female competitor a genuine compliment after she's on stage, she'll be glowing from it.

I’m still a fan of the women’s bodybuilding division, but I’ll admit that they were way more attractive in the bygone eras than most of them are now. And there were also more of them because there were WAY fewer divisions/categories. But it IS true, that most women are going for a look like in this picture. Not only is it more attainable, and less unnatural, it IS more attractive to most of the men AND women who are into this scene.

One thing I’ll miss about Kristina is the first rate posing routines. Back in the day, the posing round was included in the judging/scores for the contests. I doubt they’ll ever go back to that but it could potentially make things interesting if they did.
