Riley Gaines is the worst... Total grifter...
Up until recent, she was engaged to a illegal
lol I'm sure nothing problematic will come from this thread
Do you mean like me saying or suggesting it's mind-boggling af for SIMONE FUCKING BILES to have said what she said in the first place which led to this crazy-strange body-shaming shade?
Telling a woman "You look like a man" is just not what I ever could have expected SIMONE FUCKING BILES to say. I appreciate her coaxing the bicep flex out of Riley, but this was not the way. And, as it turns out, psycho muscle fans like me didn't even get much, as Riley's biceps are literally what I can see on 12-15% of the women who come into the local Food Lion.
If I post this on twitter, I'll be gaslit for "policing * women's speech!", so I posted it here instead, because I know some female muscle fans are able focus on what really matters here. I'm disappointed that - for one of the greatest athletes in the history of the entire world - "muscles are masculine" is even a thing, and especially something she'd attempt to use as an insult just because she disagrees with someone.

Nah, it’s just funny because if the Riley vs Dylan meme.
Politics aside... Simone Biles is literally the best female gymnast to ever walk the planet and Riley Gaines is a 5th place loser in college swimming. They're not even in the same freaking universe of athletics.
I saw that trans people basically got regulated out of sports, so Riley has to keep coming up with new outrage points to keep her hustle going. I image that she wakes up, reads a story of like a 12yo trans girl jumping over a hurdle somewhere in Minnesota and breathes a heavy sigh of relief.
"Yes. My chosen career is safe for at least ONE more day." she says.
Also, I believe that the "look like a man" quote was referencing Riley's height, which is 5'9", and to be fair, more common for men than women. Wasn't nice but was definitely funny.
Biles decided to spew bile out of the blue, but she failed to read the room to see that most people appreciate Gaines for being the actual feminist that America needs right now.
Naturally Biles issued a non-apology but the damage to her brand has been done. She showed that she cares more about shilling for the trans cause than looking out for her fellow female athletes' rights to fair play and personal safety.

Okay I'll bite.
I feel like the anti-trans people won. Right? There were shockingly few trans athletes before and now there's really none.
I live in LA.. which has more people than most states in the USA, and we had literally one trans girl competing in track and field.
Personally, I don't really care that much either way. I'm okay with most sports being categorized by gender. Sure.
But I'm definitely freaking sick of it dominating our politics SO freaking much. I can't even believe how much money and time has been wasted on - statistically - a non-issue. At what point do the anti-trans people declare victory and start moving on to the many other problems facing women. There's far more girls getting shot to death in American schools then there are losing sports matches to "genetic males." Maybe put some effort into stopping that?
And again, Simone Biles is one of the best athletes in the entire history of women AND she suffered unbelievable sexual assault by a crooked team physical who victimized countless young women while the rest of the athletic power structure looked away.
In my world she can say and think whatever the hell she wants.

I love everything you said here! It's been mind boggling to me how much airtime the trans-people-in-sport issue has received, given how rarely it occurred. I guess I always figured it would be best left up to the teams themselves, but as you said that ship seems to have already sailed.
So during the Bud Light situation, there was a meme going around calling Riley Gaines a “real woman” compared to the Bud Light woman/formerly man. Riley looked more like a man than the biological born man did, lol. Like I’ve seen fewer harder self-owns.
You’re so wrong, but I get that you’re committed to playing pretend. Not something adults used to do, but here we are.

Not saying it’s my type, just saying it compared an unflattering picture of her and Dylan about as good as she can look.
Also, in history, there’s never been a successful movement in a free nation to suppress a minority group that’s wanted rights. I don’t get it either, but I accepted the inevitable 6 years ago.
I find this all very tedious but I do think Riley is attractive and despite a fifth place turnout she's still a star athlete and an impressive person. People say she's a grifter but I think she's very well spoken and has a lot of courage to overcome immense social pressure not to speak out. I see a lot of my wife in her - just a tough attractive woman with a strong sense of right and wrong and no fear for speaking out when she perceives an injustice. You can agree or disagree with her but I think she's fully in earnest.

It's not "courageous" to speak out when the only outlets she is doing so are those that are very friendly to her views like Fox News and at places like CPAC.
She is a grifter because she decided to make her fifth place finish her identity and go all in on an audience would absolutely gobbles up what she does.
I did NOT see that coming. But on the plus side, we get a flex out of it:
