I don't know for sure, but it seems like a lot of those threads are duplicates or close to that.
The Android phone one was asinine and deliberately designed to stir up shit, that's the difference. It's no different than "Post only muscle girls wearing MAGA hats". It serves no purpose whatsoever except to stir shit. Even the intro of that stupid Android thread was throwing shade. It said something about them being orginal or rebels or something. Because using the same phone OS as 86% of the planet means you're a rebel, not a sheep. Give a me fucking break. It was locked, as it should have been. Just as a political thread or anything else deliberately divisive would be.
NONE of the example you posted above meet that criteria. NONE of these were designed to stir up shit and none of them did.
I can't tell if you're trolling here or being willfully ignorant or you genuinely don't understand the difference.

The arbitrariness I'm referring to is the removal based on an unwritten rule with the given justification, "x has no bearing on their muscles," applying to multiple other threads, not the subject itself. That said, though the subject in question could be considered an individual preference, funnily enough it could be argued that the tool used to capture an image is an intrinsic quality of the image itself.

Relax, super chief. Nobody is attacking you, either with the locked thread or with this one. You're free to take your own fucking break, you don't need someone to give you one. If a brand stirs up shit for you, I don't know what to tell you. That's a really weird trigger. If your knee-jerk towards someone calmly questioning the rationale of an unwritten rule that isn't even your responsibility to enforce riles you up to the point you feel the need to come in acting like somebody personally pissed in your grits, you probably need to have a walk around the block.

This is the second time the "brand specific" language has come up from a moderator in regards to this, so it might be beneficial to update the guidelines thread to include that particular restriction. Clear guidelines, though admittedly ignored by many, go a long way towards shifting things from arbitrary to objective.
I sometimes think many interesting threads get locked. but I can't really complain about this site since the mods are quite forgiving and reasonable. many sites will perma ban you over very minor mistakes or miscommunication. here they just delete your post but your account. and all the other stuff you posted that didn't break rules is safe so it's better than most sites
A thread was started by gominhos in Image Themes titled "Android girls (no iPhone)". It seems like a relatively fun premise, but was locked within an hour. The given reason was "The brand of phone they have has no bearing on their muscles."
Pictured below are other currently active threads with themes that, likewise, have no bearing whatsoever on the subject's muscles. This sort of arbitrary decision is frustrating to see as an uninvolved third party, so I can only imagine how it lands for gominhos.
