Chyna aka Joanie Laurer: The Greatest Female Wrestler

What are everyone's thoughts, suggestions or opinions on Chyna being termed as the greatest female wrestler that WWE ever had?

Best physique, biggest, yes. BEST? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Charlotte Flair is TEN TIMES BETTER and for me MUCH HOTTER. Jade Cargill is in AEW but also WAY HOTTER but just needs them to start DOING SOMETHING with her already! Sure she needs time to get better but she's ready to see more action soon.

I'd love to see a Kristy Hawkins or someone be like a FEMALE Hulk Hogan character!

She was the first female wrestler that could go toe to toe with the make wrestlers. She was my first muscle girl on tv. She opened a lot of doors for muscular girls on tv. I remember watching raw and hiding my excitement whenever she came so that others don't make fun of me.

I would agree that Chyna is the greatest female wrestler WWE ever had in my own personal opinion. Unlike the forgettable female wrestlers WWE is bringing into their company currently the female wrestlers back in the day had personality and the look. Wrestling skills yes but not all the way compared to the forgettable current female WWE roster right now. Chyna was huge to begin with and that's why I love big FBB's now but she changed her look a year or two later to compete with the bombshells like Sable and Sunny. And honestly Chyna looked way hotter than either of them with her sexier look. She would do bikini shoots, other fashion shoots, workout in the gym and more. My wife even caught on to Chyna when she was growing up in Russia and Chyna became her favorite wrestler and also influenced my wife and me to hit the gym hardcore. We have her fitness video on VHS from way back in the day and still watch it time to time. I watch it because of her huge boob shots. WWE cameramen know they stuff! And I know that Chyna took steroids and HGH and I couldn't care a less because the gear made her hotter and more noticeable. See everybody steroids and HGH do wonders.

She was definitely a trailblazer, especially at a time when the only acceptable female wrestlers were basically barbie dolls.

I think her being a popular wrestler also made being a muscular woman more acceptable too.

She was my dream girl as a kid. I would have married her in a heartbeat. Her Divas in Hedonism clips were breathtaking. 🥵🥵🥵

Greatest Female Wrestler? Far from it. But she was something special during her time. Every time the industry tried to invent another Chyna it never came close to what she'd achieved.

I totally agree with you. Shaniqua, Beth Phoenix (great but not as Chyna), Kharma, Nia Jax and many others.

I called Chyna the greatest female wrestler because she broke barriers for women that were big like herself to get into the business. She was an inspiration to so many who were big gals.

I'll give Chyna credit for being a trail blazer and for perhaps making the appreciation of muscular females a bit more mainstream, but that's about it. Especially if you expand your wrestling universe outside of the USA she wasn't even close to the greatest female wrestler of her era much less of all time.

We are actually living in something of a golden age of female wrestling right now. There are an incredible number of talented women out there w/ 100 times the athleticism and skill that Chyna had.

I'd also add that it seems to me that people have this notion that Chyna was just enormous for a woman - like well over 6' and 200 lbs. This was NOT the case. I believe at her biggest she was about 5'10" and 195 lbs. That makes her 2 inches shorter than Raquel Gonzalez and 77 lbs lighter than Nia Jax. Even Charlotte Flair is 5'10" and is listed as 141 but I've seen her looking more like 165.

W/ all due respect to what she accomplished, it seems to me that many of Chyna's fans are basing their opinion of her more on nostalgia, emotion and the image of her that the WWE created rather than reality

People seem to have clashing definitions of the word "greatest."

It's basically the same argument when people try to say who the greatest band of all time is. A lot of people will say The Beatles because they were the first to do a lot of things, and heavily influential on bands after them. But then there are others who will argue that there have been many, many bands since with a lot more talent and better sounding music. So it all depends on how you define "greatest."

Anybody remember when her Playboy issue came out back in the day?

My dad had a stash, and it was the issue I kept coming back to over and over. First time I ever saw a really muscular woman naked.
