I know this is not wiki feet but we need a feet tag. Also need a tag for 8 pack abs

I would suggest continent tag such as "Asia"

I think a torso/neck tag would be really nice. It's an underrated part that combines the jawline, shoulder and pecs. also ethnicity would be nice. some days I'm feelin latino and some days it's black.

A tag for "PED" for women who are using peds to an extent where its obvious.

Can the tags be made active, so that you can click on biceps or abs etc, and bring up pics featuring these body parts?

I like uberbabesrule's idea. If the tags can't be clicked on to zero-in on the relevant images, then what use are they? How does the system work now? I've been suggesting tags for muscle worship and muscles measured (just two of many untagged themes being suggested by many users}, although one moderator I've communicated with seems to oppose having those particular types of tags, saying I don't understand the use of tagging. I'm also seeing what I consider over-use of the tag for "casual". To me, an image with that tag should show no evidence of posing, passion, strain, or exertion on the part of the subject. If I'm off-base with this opinion, then someone please tell me what are supposed to be the main characteristics of a "casual" image? Why is it important to have a tag for this when there are so few tags currently in use and a lot of other more compelling themes (in my opinion) to be tagged?

The tag can be used for search hence filtering. Combine it with the sorting parameters and you make the tag system active.

I agree. This feature is basic in an image site.

You go to the Images page, click on Advanced Search, and then Filter by tags.

Simply them being in everyday/non-workout clothes, or a relaxed situation as far as I'm aware.

I'm happy to finally find out GWM's definition of casual as it applies to FBB's and female athletes. I gather the inference is that GWM viewers like flexing in casual cloths enough to justify the tag. Apparently no so for other suggestions that have been ignored or shot down. I'm not withdrawing my suggestions, but it looks to me like admin wants to shrink the tag list more than to expand it, which will make the tags even less useful to me than they are now..

Definitely allow People to set tags at Upload.

Optional because I assume for people uploading on mass it would be tricky to set the tags.

As already suggested I would be for doing it in categories.

1.)Bodytype: Bodybuilder/Physique - Figure/Fitness - Gymnast - Athlete - Uncategorized only one can be chossen per picture

2.) Select up to 3 Predominant Body Parts eg. Biceps Veins etc.

3.) Select Setting: Workout - Casual - Body Comparison

Optional add one Specific I guess I call it a Kink Tag for lack of a better word Like :

workout breathing - Lift and Carry feats of strength etc. (New Tags in this Category could be added by Vote but I would suggest a quite high Threshold for adding new Tags like 500 Votes in Total and at least 75% for the new Tag.

You gotta pick at least one per step and a max of 5 plus 1 optional Tag.

It also would be interesting IF a Picture is set to Uncatecorized to open it up for a Community vote which should be featured prominently at the Front Page.

Maybe if a least 2 People agree on the tags it should be applied (could be more just a suggestion).

I dont know how doable all this is for you but those are my 2 cents

Are you still planning on implementing a new Tag System anytime soon or have priorities shifted ?

I've made a few suggestions about tagging, but actually, I have a system of my own that's way easier to use than the tagging system and allows me to highlight themes that are of special interest to me, like "muscle worship" and "muscles measured". Basically, I scan everything that's posted and favorite anything I like enough to share my approval with other users. Then I bookmark about 5% of those to my own computer as special favorites and arrange the bookmarks into groups according to themes of my own choosing. It works for me and I don't need the approval or vote of anyone else at GWM!

I'd have thought that South Korea might deserve it's own tag.

Every country deserves its own tag. Even more important for those where FBBs are very rare.

Since the site appears to show more women in sports other than bodybuilding, weightlifting, crossfit and fitness, perhaps naming the specific sport the woman excels at, for example:

1) Rugby

2) Track

3) Field

4) Gymnastics

5) Swimming

6) Water Polo

7) Equestrian (workout)

8) Tennis

And, so on. On the other hand, there could be too many sports to mention!

I already commented on this in another thread, but I think one of the reasons why the tags are so inaccurate is because of duplicate images. When duplicate images are merged, all their tags are added together, often exceeding 5 tags. The 5 tag limit should improve the tags. It would make more sense to keep the tags of the first image (unless they are empty). There is no guarantee that they will be better, but 10 or more tags will always be worse than 5.

Another idea that comes to mind is to lock the tags. I remember that GWM used to have a button with a padlock icon, which allowed you to lock the name of a model, if you were the one who uploaded the image, so that no one could modify it. The same could be done with the tags.

Obviously, moderators could also unlock tags to prevent abuse.

It think tags for race would be good like White, Black, Latina, East Asian, South Asian and MENA.

Maybe you can add subgroups like South European and East European

Another Idea would be to have two separate tags for body comparison with a male and body comparison with a female, instead of just one tag.

Because usually when I look at that tag I'm looking for a picture of demonstrating her superiority to a guy.

Unless there's a better suggestion that I didn't see, it seems the best solution is to have tag categories (which several others have agreed with). I believe this has already been touched on for the most part, but to reiterate and maybe even add to the suggestions:

Clothing (choose 1):

  • Formal
  • Athletic
  • Casual
  • Professional
  • Swimwear
  • etc., etc.

Muscles on display (choose up to 5):

  • Biceps
  • Quads
  • Abs
  • etc., etc., etc.

Scenario (choose 1):

  • Lift & Carry
  • Armwrestling
  • Body comparison
  • Transformation (before & after)
  • Flexing
  • Working Out ("Training" might be better)
  • etc., etc.

I think these are the main 3 categories to focus on. More could be added at Chainer's discretion but I'll leave it there for now until we get further word on what he's planning on (which may or may not be something completely different).

The other big one would be body type category, although I don't know that there's much need for anything beyond figure/fitness and bodybuilder, since anything more granular gets arbitrarily subjective pretty quick. Maybe a "physique" category for all the women who don't fall on either pole? Other possibilties are "crossfit" (since they generally seem to share a specific body type, although that might just be best left to the "athlete" tag), and "offseason".

Also, I agree there should be an explanation somewhere prominent on the site of the intended uages for the tags, like the About or Uploads page.

Right. Perhaps "Competitor Type" and we could list:

  • Crossfit
  • Bikini/Wellness
  • Figure/Fitness
  • Bodybuilder/Physique
  • Power-Lifter
  • Athlete (running, track & field, sports, etc.)
  • Casual (non-competitor)

And etc. as more entries come to mind.

Bikini/Wellness/Figure/Fitness can all be collapsed into one, I think. Which should probably stay as just Figure/Fitness, since "Bikini" will make people think of the outfit not the division, and Wellness kind of blends into the other two (I think it has less emphasis on low bodyfat?)

I do agree that changing Bodybuilder to Bodybuilder/Physique might be a good idea, since there aren't many actual female bodybuilding competitions nowadays and a lot of the Physique competitors could pass for bodybuilders just fine.
