A long, long time ago now. I worked with a fitness girl, who liked showing off her stomach. Not long after that I dated a gymnast. One day I was just surfing the web and came across Amanda Folstad. I started looking further, watched stuff, started to see girls around! I found this site and the rest is history!! I've told a few people, but is it anybody else's business?? We're all attracted to what we're attracted to. Obviously I like normal girls too.

Very interesting thread. Too important a discussion to not take part in. So, I am from 'the Orient.' You can probably guess that the media I have been exposed to since childhood is pretty different from what most members here are used to.

I got started through attraction to female strength, I think. I can't say how that started, maybe it is something genetic. But I used to get hooked on dancers on the TV whenever they came on, the way they stepped and struck their feet made me feel they're expressing immense power. These are dancers of the Indian classical form - so they dance with bare feet and anklets on.

Then it got compounded with a mythological story. In this story, a huge and muscular demon king - who had proven himself stronger than any male gods - was demolished by the goddess of strength. This goddess (known by various names - Anahita, Durga, Ishtar, etc.) was also the goddess of beauty, sensuality and dance. When she killed the demon lord, she did it barehanded, trampling his muscular limbs one by one, pressing his chest under her feet and dancing over him. She enjoyed the process and prolonged it, while the demon vomited blood and begged repeatedly. This whole thing was impossibly sexy to me. I started picturing muscular female legs and calves in my head, and them overpowering strong, hulking men like that.

But wasn't a crush fetish, or a foot fetish. It definitely had more to do with the strength and muscularity of the dancing girl. Take those factors away and it made no difference to me.

There were a few cheaply done Indian comics, which occasionally showed a semblance of muscular female legs. They were probably the first visual cues I received (although very poor ones.) Certain panels on DC or Marvel comics also helped.

Then I discovered Yelena Isinbayeva in the newspapers. You can guess how that went.

I discovered the internet when I was about 16. After that, it is pretty much the same story as everyone else's.

Note that I had no experience of muscular girls growing up. Here in India, female attire usually covers everything up - that was even more true in the 90s. The only Indian element contributing to my sexual preference was the story of the goddess, which was in a way the defining element. Even now, I like girls with muscular legs and calves more than other muscular girls.

This is pretty long.

I would peg the genesis of my appreciation back in college where I nearly got jumped because of it. How? Well, it involved this one particular girl who, to me was my study partner but to another guy living in my dorm building, she was his girlfriend. I guess he felt threatened by the 'competition'. I was not trying to steal her from him, nor did I believe I was . He should have been more threatened by her because she was far more athletic than he was. That guy was in pretty good shape but she was far more ripped and built than he was. She was a swimmer and ran track for a little bit then decided to focus more on lifting heavier weights. Because of the clothes she wore, most of the time one would see a cute girl next door not knowing that there was a jacked beast underneath the clothes. I learned of this on two occasions: The first being at the gym where she was training and I was there as part of physical therapy (I was in a bad car accident prior). It was the first time I realized that girls could develop not just a six pack but a deeply cut set like she had.

I encountered her again in a class that she recently transferred into due to unforeseen events. As for a class project, we ended up partnering. All of this occurred before I learned I lived across the hall from her boyfriend. She learned of this and was stopping by his place and mine which was making him jealous. He confronted me about it which I explained I only know her from class and we are working on a project together. Well, he had a group of friends 'keep an eye on me'. This leads to the second occasion and how I was nearly jumped. We agreed on another day to meet for this project but this time, the meeting location was at her dorm (because it was late at night and it wasn't safe for girls to be out late because of rising crime, though I'm quite sure this one could fight). We meet in her dorm but we ended up going to student lounge because of heat issues in her room. She's comfortably dressed in sweatpants and a tank top. I don't know if this was how she normally gets comfortable.

I found myself concentrating as hard as I could on the project while glancing at this girl's six pack moving from her breathing. Her arms were of decent size with not the biggest biceps but formed tennis ball peaks. This occurred when kept moving her hair. I suspect there was some flirting going on here and given that she knows my situation with her insecure boyfriend she was egging it on. It turns out a friend of the boyfriend was also in that building and saw us so he told the boyfriend about us. Mind you, there is no flirting, no romance, no sex, we were just studying.

The next day, still blown away by this girl, I left my room to head for class only to be confronted by the boyfriend and his group. They wanted to fight and I didn't. Somehow, I successfully escaped. Later that day, I learned this girl could actually fight because it turned out she caught the boyfriend cheating because she was at my room and he had a different girl at his room. Angered by this, she laid him out cold with a nasty right hook in front of all of us.

Sadly, the only good thing that came out was that we passed our project. They broke up, then she transferred because her family moved. We tried to stay in contact but lost touch. I left the school and I don't know what happened to the now ex. It was a crazy couple of weeks and that experience left me with the impression of admiring muscular women

I watched a school house rock video where a girl gets taller than a boy... (@6:40)

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6_j4F-toWqE

That kinda got my motor turning about tall girls.

Then a few years later, around age 11 I suppose, I saw my first WPW on a news stand and bought a copy. The one with a FBB on the cover dressed as "Rambolina".

Been game on since then. Now my preferences are tall with an off-season (still feminine) look.

I remember it was the late 70s/early 80s, and the first bodybuilder I came to notice was Lucia Sanoja, widely considered Venezuela's first female bodybuilder. She may not have been the actual first, but was the first to rise from obscurity and appear in magazines and TV, posing in a bikini, her body shining with an oily luster. I was entranced. In hindsight, I can say now she wasn't muscular at all, and if she had any definition on her, it would be the most faint. She was active in sports, and could (maybe) be considered slightly toned today, but if she had competed in an international stage in the 80s, she wouldn't even place, that's for sure.

All that said, she was the only female bodybuilder in the whole country that actively sought the spotlight and would go flex in a bikini on TV. She shone a light on the obscure sport of female bodybuilding and was very well known, but bodybuilding was only a stepping stone for her. Lucia stopped pursuing bodybuilding when she got famous, and reinvented herself as an actress and singer in the mid 80s. For comparison, Yaxeni is only 3 years older than Lucia, and she started competing professionally in 93, about a decade after Lucia left the bodybuilding stage.

The country now has internationally famous and accomplished bodybuilding and fitness stars, like Yaxeni Oriquen, Dr. Josefina Monasterio, Michelle Lewin, Betty Viana, Fannie Barrios, and more, but Lucia is the first one I knew.

When I was a kid, I had a DVD box of Power Rangers Time Force and the cover had an artwork of the female Rangers with muscles.

Found myself interested early on, as in before I was even attracted to women.

In 2nd grade, I had an extremely athletic classmate with incredible calf and leg genetics. I still know her today. Actually just incredible genetics overall. She has the best legs I have seen on a woman in real life, and easily tops 80% of women on this site genetics wise. If she took gear she could surely compete.

Something about her physique was awe inspiring. I was too young to even have a concept of sexual attraction. Yet for some reason I wanted to see more like her. At the time I had a book which talked about the human body, and actually had to consult it to find the name of the muscle! I distinctly remember how terrible Google was in that era - trying to search "calves" brought up nothing but baby cows for pages on end.

I obviously never gave up searching, and that's more or less the story of how I built up my collection and found GWM.

I will add a voice from the council of elders...

This sealed the deal for me as an 'ass man'. Apologies for the snaps, glare, etc., I have no functioning scanner here. This woman died in a shootout at the beginning of 2020. Bodybuilder, Martial Artist, Stuntwoman, other things... Fascinating, but tragic, most importantly.

Also, as a follow up to Shantzy's post. This is the follow up to the Laura Combes Real People piece, which was basically a promo for Dorris B.'s Florida FBB contingent, known as SPA, Superior Physique Association.

Includes a few of the pioneers. Stacey Bentley, again, passed in early 2020. Longtime nurse. Suzy (Susie) Green, Claudia Wilbourn, Ms. McLish, etc.

I speculate that this was a "rebuttal" made to represent (or at the behest) of the west coast contingent.

It was the 1st Season of the Wonder Woman TV show.

Wonder Woman (as played by Linda Carter) was beautiful and feminine, yet was beating up multiple men, a gorilla, bending metal bars, lifting boulders, lifting cars, and even stopped a jet airplane on the runway . . . and then there was her sister Wonder Girl (as played by Debra Winger) . . .

Feeling the incredibly hard and huge muscle on a 2nd cousin. She was a gymnast who then continued to stay in shape by working out. I got to feel her bicep 2 times and I was hooked. Must have been around 13 inches or so but incredibly rock solid and round. She also slammed my cousin in armwrestling. She had no problem letting me feel her arm, it was almost like she was turned on or proud of how much I was blown away by me wanting feel her muscle over and over.

That would be high school. I've never been the sporty guy (which is ironical, considering my tastes), but I had a crush for a girl on our school's badminton team, and this was the first of my crushes which turned into something real. Something short, but something real, nonetheless. One of the things that remained laser-etched in my memory was touching her toned, firm calves, abs and arms when she was dozing off or resting against me; but then, if I got a crush on her, it means that there was already "something" that drew me towards muscular girls.

I saw a short documentary on austrian TV about a FBB named Hermine Klinger, probably very early 90s. The docu series was about "unusual sports for women". Some of her workout was shown, and I still remember that she cried after almost every set. Was looking quite a while to find that docu, I wasn't successful though. Still like seeing women giving their all in the gym today.

Sandy cheeks muscle growth

Apr 04, 2021 - edited Apr 04, 2021 - permalink

At first, I was attracted to muscle in general. But I was a kid, and I didn’t understand sexuality. I just knew muscles looked great. I’d specifically like watching cartoons where the girls would get buff, like Sandy from Spongebob or Timmy’s mom from Fairly Odd Parents.

Then there was Fear Factor. It was a game show where people from all walks of life did extreme and dangerous stuff for prize money. One contestant caught my eye because of how jacked she was - Tatianna Butler. I overheard my grandmother talk to my mom, mentioning that Tatianna was a bodybuilder. From that moment on, I knew the kind of women that I was into.

Joanna Thomas also played a part (RIP). Supersize She actually introduced me to women’s bodybuilding, and it’s where I saw faces like Debbie Bramwell and a quick glimpse of Denise Masino.
