Michaela had 17”+ arms at her biggest, and even off season she was never “heavy looking”

She’s only 5’0”. Idk anyone like that

Lauranda Nall is still fit and active but I don’t see her competing anymore. She was amazing!!

Cindy Phillips. what she achieved up to the time she earned her pro card, was extraordinary..the looks, conditioning and development were just perfect.. she was prepping for her pro debut and she simply said.. no more.. :( my take is that achieving her size and conditioning was simply too much, probably more emotionally than physically...if she had stuck with it.. one can only imagine how her mature muscles would have dominated...

Charity Witt was awesome, now she looks more flabby than she was 2 years ago. And Andrea Rogers who just stopped, her instagram went from a typical bodybuilder to looking like the profile of a 40 YO housewife

Great topic!

And just my two cents: While I couldn't say each or either of these ladies would have been "great", a few that come to mind for me that had a lot of potential in their own right (and who also happened to be absolute favorites of mine) are:

Jenna Brown Jacklyn Abrams/Sutton Rikki Smead Hanna Hallman

I was really looking forward to seeing what these girls could do and followed them very closely. I'm sad now! 😭

Megan Elizabeth Colvin could have been world class, one of the best ever but she quit due to bodyshaming if I'm correct

Which is a shame because she clearly had superior genetics, amazing traps, unique insertions, top conditioning and she packed lots of mass for such a short frame.

It's a real shame because when she stopped she was just starting going to a whole new level

Look at those veins, traps and cannonball delts

You see on the recent photo she lost all her muscle...

Tarna Alderman

She transform from a regular mom to muscle hottness and then back to a fit mom.

17" arms at 5 feet? You sure about that? That would put her in Colette's range. A couple years ago, she complained on a video about being asked her muscle measurements and then said she would "never" talk about measurements again or something like that. It's like some people don't even want you to be a fan of them. Ok.

she's measured her arms a couple of times on her story (both posts are uploaded here, one is a video, one is a photo from a question I asked myself). Recently she did another QA where someone asked the largest her arms were and she said 17". Keep in mind that the uploads here are in a bit of a leaner state so I can def see the added bulk from her off season getting there.

She seems to have relaxed on it somewhat because she answers a few of those questions when she does QAs (and the most recent was the trend where people ask her to post photos of a request). One of them even had her email for paypal but I've emailed her a few times and no response on it. So she's def a little nicer about it but not willing to do any of the usual stuff with sites

Damn, that Tarna transformation is crazy. She had phenomenal biceps and now they're...barely there?

So I'm digging around on Instagram and looking at a lot of the women mentioned and it's honestly bonkers how many of them follow similar paths. I don't know if there's a left/right political thing at all, since a lot of bb i follow on social media tend to lean right but.

Hanna Hallman: was dating and married to Mike Rice. Now he is dating (maybe married) to some other woman, and Hanna is teaching yoga and posting about "being one with the universe" and "third eye" stuff. this is a trend. As far as I can tell she may not lift anymore. I would bet that the amount of steroids she was taking as she transitioned to bodybuilding played a part.

Dani Reardon: went through a slow change--i'm sure many of you know about her arrest years ago because she assaulted her then bf/now husband. I've met both of them, they're nice, so it sounds like she was drunk. But after making some poor financial decisions and moving around, they both made the changed to vegetarian, then vegan, moved to Colorado where her sister was, and I'm sure y'all know the rest: yoga, shaved head, third eye, horoscopes, no bodybuilding training, although she still coaches others. I got customs from her back in the day.

Cindy Philips: didn't go woowoo, she retired early as we know, got married, had two kids, and as of 3 years ago was doing crossfit. apparently one of her kids has cystic fibrosis which is no bueno. somehow her site is still active after all these years. I don't know her married name so I couldn't find any more recent updates since 2018.

Tarna Alderman: I'm not sure what happened to her--she already had a kid but maybe the cost of competitive BB and the time and the physical toll (+Steroids) made her think twice and she turned around. Very flash in the pan.

Sierra Mangus: was a rising star then went all woo-woo and yoga, and downsized. she's still active on social but that life is over.

Shannon Courtney: no longer wanted to compete--i'm sure there were a lot of factors here. She dated Brandon Ray for a while and it sounded pretty controlling (this was post divorce or in the middle of it, and her former husband I guess had been okay with all the muscle worship stuff but I assume Ray wasn't, because she basically stopped it all at that time). Plus women's bodybuilding basically died when she was ramping up. So without a goal she quit. Went and did some warrior races and settled on crossfit. The implants don't do it for me, but she had a second kid. She's I guess still trying to be semi-competitive in crossfit but at this juncture the scene is so fragmented with competitions who knows how anyone will do. Got married, seems to be pretty normal.

Megan Colvin: I assume she went REALLY hard on the steroids because she got big fast. i heard she did cam super briefly but obviously quit bb, didn't go woowoo or anything, but I just have less info on her.

There are a few others I thought of:

Vanessa Naesheim (Quit to pursue MMA/BJJ though she and her BF still run their gym). I always felt like she had great lines for physique but wasn't quite big enough and wasn't always rewarded. Now she definitely wouldn't be big enough.

Katie Lee (Basically done with competing and focusing on BJJ/MMA, although she still looks like a BB). Incredible arms and chest as we all know but lower body didn't match up, plus a wide waist that made proportions hard.

Taylor Iraggi (took a bunch of roids to go to physique and is doing bikini last I heard, but I'm not sure if she's still competing)

I just wanted to tack on another comment to add to the above--the relationships these women have obviously play a huge part in their career.

Hanna (married, then divorced) Shannon (Married, divorced, remarried) Katie (bad relationship if you couldn't tell from her social media posts that all read like covers) Tarna (divorced, at least that's what it seems to me)

A lot of ended relationships and I wonder how many of them ended because "she got too big", even if they were dating a bodybuilder or BIG guy.

I mentioned this in this thread I believe but another girl i've talked to recently is divorcing her husband of like one year because she was "getting too big", and he was a bb too. Most women will make the changes and stay with their guy I think which means a lot of quitting, or if they don't want to make those changes the relationship breaks down.

I would also add that their BFs or husbands may play a part in the implant decisions (or even wanting to get a normal response from a guy: Mandy Squires, (maybe) Shannon Courtney, and others all seemed like they were comfortable and confident with their build and then got the add ons.

Obviously as fans it sucks to see up and comers quit but patience is in short supply these days. One of my favorite women ever, GIllian Ward, didn't compete until her late 30s after 20+ years of training and had a bright, short, career. But not all women are willing to wait to put 15 years of training under their belts.

Anyways, sorry for the rant, just something I've been thinking about lately. I buy a lot of customs and it seems, more than ever, that windows for the women I follow and support are closing faster and faster.

Sadly most of the ladies that got really big at a really young age just burn out. The idea that they'd have to keep up the lifestyle of eating perfectly, never partying and working out for hours 6 days a week (not to mention the steroids) for the REST of their lives must be daunting.

Not just daunting, just not sustainable from a health (and possibly financial) perspective, either. And if there are further external reasons coming into play, it's no wonder many stop.

Kate Cook (anabolicangel)

had an insane amount of muscle for a teen with a back built like Concord, but since she had a child she hasn't made a comeback. She and Tifani Wittman were definitely some of the biggest teen girls around!

Did Tifani downsize? I wasn't aware of that.

Kassie Kemmis. Amazing body, especially legs, but she quit a while back and had all herbicep stuff taken down too.
