New website: save our souls or not?

The new website seems much faster and that's impressive.

But I have a big concern: the numbers of the new images have restarted from 1 (as it can be seen in the address of a page, for example
" class="bbc_link" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">
, here it's number 333, posted just today!).

So, are old images (from several years ago) likely to be "overwritten" by new ones re-using the same addresses, or are only unused numbers (from old already deleted images) are re-used?

I'm very worried about it! For example, I have an old favorite at number 323 (
" class="bbc_link" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">
).

This was a bug where for some time the new images were using IDs in the hundreds. However, instead of overwriting the old images, uploads would just fail.

This should be fixed now, where new uploads have id's in the 900,000's. (You may see some more images get approved with low IDs though, which are currently in the queue.)

Thanks Chainer, I almost had a heart attack when I found that bug.
