The evolution of women's bodybuilding.

Jan 23, 2016 - edited Jan 23, 2016

I haven't checked but that looks like ALL the Ms Olympia bodybuilding champions since the first Ms O in 1980.

Jan 23, 2016

oh, and I love every stage of the evolution of the women's side of the sport.

My top three: - 1st Kim Chizevsky - 2nd Lenda Murray - 3rd Andrulla Blanchette

Jan 25, 2016

VII I like them all but for me, out of those women, I can't go past the 80's. Rachel, Kike, Carla and Cory.

There is one missing !? 2001 !

Jan 27, 2016 - edited Jan 27, 2016

orinoko as soon as I saw your comment the name Juliette Bergmann came to mind. After googling the Ms Olympia winners I was reminded that yes in 2001 Juliette won the lightweight division and beat Iris Kyle for the overall title.

Ok so my first comment is wrong. Maybe someone needs to make a new one of these photos with ALL the Ms Olympia bodybuilding winners.

Jan 31, 2016

Hi, I thought of Valentina Chepiga. But she was Ms Olympia in 2000 not in 2001. So there are two missing !??!

Jan 31, 2016

Ok so it's not a complete list of Ms O winners but it's a very nice picture none the less.

Feb 02, 2016

absolutely !

Feb 07, 2016

@VII- I agree, however, Juliette Bergman was fantastic also!

1980 - 1983 were the natural years of FBB. After that slowly but surely the amount of substances increased and increased. Gone with the syringe w/ respect to 1984 and on.

Rachel, Kike, and Carla are extremely gorgeous and got there via hard work and preparation w/o substances. They are hot. 3 thumbs up!

Mar 26, 2016

In that row Lenda was the first real fbb, everything before is not worth to be remembered!!!

Mar 27, 2016

The real fbbs were those who did not use the syringe. Anyone after that is not genuine. They are more muscular but that is due to roids. Yes they are still hot but not as appealing as those who did not take them.

Respect to all but Iris shadows all, she also set the bar with posing and flexing, tho would have loved to have seem Kim and Iris both in their hey day on stage comoarisons. Iris a Rising Pheonix?? (A good third to Andrulla, remember her on musclemags in school ;) )

I think the phrase "to each their own" fits here.

I do not think righteous stigmatize Mr. Olympia more contemporary for her use of steroids.

I am not an expert, but that steroids do not grow muscles of nowhere like mushrooms. Obviously, the contemporary get a bigger muscles and probably in less time, but do not think expend energy less or less dedicated or disciplined than before.

Bring it back

Jan 17, 2019

Weird to think it's only 40 years since you could win the Ms. O with a physique like Rachel McLish's. Nowadays I can't walk through a busy town centre without seeing at least 2 or 3 women who are more muscular than she was.

Jan 17, 2019

Kike Elomaa is he best out of all of them hands down

Feb 13, 2019

AngryGibbon you said it. Lenda on were pretty darn good.

Sep 13, 2019

who are the best female bodybuilders who did not win an Olympia?

Sep 13, 2019 - edited Sep 13, 2019

olympic1916 I think it's all subjective and there can be no definitive list but my list of the best women to have never won the Ms Olympia would have to include, among others, Bev Francis, Laura Creavalle, Sandy Riddell and Debi Laszewski.

Sep 13, 2019

What about Rutkowski? She came close in 93

Sep 14, 2019

Ok, fair enough, but I did say there can be no definitive list and I did also say among others.

Who out of "Carla Dunlap, Cory Everson, Rachel McLish" was the last to b inducted into the "1999 IFBB Hall of Fame"?

Sep 05, 2020

2020 Ms. Olympia coming soon and the other competitors better be fully prepared, otherwise they've already paved the path for Iris Kyle to easily take home title number 11
