Agree heck. They called it body BUILDing...not shrinking. The girls now use different types of roids to create the cut muscles and stay slimmer. The sport is less popular now than ever. The 20% rule was a failure, but men's bodybuilding is dying too. Arnold and Lou Ferrigno were well known. I don't think most people now would know Mr Olympia if he was standing next to them. I have zero idea who it is. Could not name one in the past decade or 2.
Big part of what the IFBB did about a decade back to answer the US congress steroid probe....which was more focused in mainsteam sports, but it affected bodybuilding, wrestling, and more. The WWE went away from the Chyna's (downsized her 1st due to McMahon trial) and Aysa. They allegedly had drug testing for men too and the IFBB went with the 20% rule to try to keep sponsors on board. GNC and those stype sponsors had their stores altered and hormonal products like "Andro" made famous my Mark McGwire were banned from the shelves and even pro sports.
Lots more to it, but they targeted the women more than the men b/c the side effects are more obvious in females....tho quite obvious in men too. The whole sport has fallen off since...even the men were hit hard.
I think that is why Russia is giving us more of that the US did b4....less regulation. The crackdown is not just in the US, but it is most notable there. Other countries are not producing strong women like they once did either...or the same pace of them.
Kim, the reason why I love female bodybuilding. She blew my mind when I was a kid. She just shattered my concept of fragile and delicate women and replace it with the reality that women can be bigger and stronger than many men, but more importantly that this reality is sexy!!! Thank you Kim.
What the hell? Somebody rated this a 0? Oh come on!
